Was waiting for last years version the 857 to come down and it did but saw a lot of issues with the hdmi input number 1 and this new model has higher resolution and I believe will be better suited for future needs. I got it from Cleveland plasma a sponsor on the site. Chris has been very helpful and gave me an excellent price.

I asked Chris about the two receivers (Denon 4000 and the 4520ci) and he said that both will drive the speakers well that the 4520 will give just a little more benefits overall but that he would keep the 4000 and down the road if I needed more to go with an amp. This is after I asked him how much is a 4520 and I didn't get the 4000 off of him so he could of made a sale by saying to get the 4520. So I guess I'm gonna stick with the 4000 and save a grand there and when is all paid off maybe I get myself a emotiva xp3 and see the difference.

So take it that your not buying this at all lol. If the 4520's are that much better and I wouldn't even have to think about getting a separate amp down the line then I would send my denon 4000 back and pay for the other one. Maybe someone else can chime in too on what they think because between you and Chris I'm not sure the best route.

With those speakers you have with 4520 you will not need separated amp to push the sound

What about if I go with the denon x-4000 instead? Would I need anything else? Is it worth the extra grand to go with the 4520's for the speakers I got?

Thanks

Alright the Denon 4520ci it is. They are stopping the shipment of the 4000 that is susposed to be here today and giving me the 4520 at a nice price... 1650 brand new. Well that is that I am all done and don't have to worry about extra amps etc down the road. I called Denon, I talked to Chris from Cleveland Plasma, talked to you guys, and everyone had a different opinion. I dedided for the difference in money.... open box (4000) $899 vs brand new 4520ci $1650 to just go with the 4520's and give myself some piece of mind lol. Time to change my sig to reflect the last of my purchases. Thanks for your help guys!

Just want to give a little shout out as I am all done and waiting for my equipment to arrive. I will have some pictures once it is all set up. Hard to believe that only 45 days ago I came on here and knew absolutely nothing about audio and next to nothing about tv's; only that I loved my 52 inch Sharp Aquos I bought in 2007 and that I probably made a silly purchase getting the bose 3-2-1 system back then.

My New TV

Sharp Aquos LC-80UQ17U

www.clevelandplasma.com

Chris at clevelandplasma was awesome. I was looking through google and trying to find a good price on this TV and his site came up. I did some research to find that his ratings are off the chart good and then saw some links on him that was directed to this forum. Then I realized that he is a member on here and a sponsor. He took the time on the phone and answered all my questions, made me feel good about the purchase and I knew I was getting an excellent price to say the least. No reason to get a new TV anywhere else. Thanks Chris!

My New Receiver

Denon 4520ci

www.safeandsoundhq.com

www.avscience.com

Mike and Dave where excellent and in doing some research on them I found out fast that they have an excellent reputation for customer service and satisfaction. They were a pleasure on the phone and so easy to get in touch with. I initially ordered the X-4000 and thanks to Chise and others on the site decided I needed to go up to the 4520's if I was going to do this right. These guys redirected the receiver back to their store and the same day got the 4520 ready to go for me. Very professional yet friendly on the phone and made me feel at ease with my purchase. Price was fantastic too. Also want to thank AVscience as I know they are on here too. I didn't make a purchase from them but I would consider them in the future along with safeandsound. Both companies do outstanding work and I appreciate it greatly.

My New Speakers

www.bestbuy.com

Bowers and Wilkins 683's S1
Bowers and Wilkins htm61 S1
Bowers and Wilkins 685's S1

Say what you want about the big chains they can be good too especially when they want to move out a older series of speakers and make room for the new. And yes... you can negociate with them despite them being a big chain. I was at the one in West Nyack, NY and Paul there did a outstanding job with me. I got a pair of brand new unopened 683's that they were trying to sell for 1200 (1500 a few weeks ago) and I got them down to 1000 for the pair. I got a floor model of htm61 and 685's well below what they were trying to sell them for too. Felt great leaving the place and I know I got a great value based on my research and the help of others on here.

My new Subs

Dual PB 1000's

www.svsound.com

Really took the time on the phone as I asked many questions about what was right for me with the speakers that I bought and the dimensions of my room, gave me a great price for the 2 speakers and I hear nothing but great things about their speakers on and them on here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds like I love everyone right? Not the case but the above are the ones that really shined, helped me out, and in the end I went with them and am so glad I did. If you are looking for anything in TV's and audio I would highly recommend any of the above I don't think you can go wrong and because of that I wanted to thank them and give them a shout out on the forum. Thanks guys I really appreciate it!

I was wondering if anyone has done a comparison of the new S2 line vs the current CM line. I am deciding if I should go with the new 683 S2 or CM8s. Also, I am torn on what to do for the center channel. Due to size constraints in my stand, I can only go with the smaller center channel. Therefore, it would be between the HTM62 S2 and the CMCCG. Would there be any issues going with the 683 S2 and CMCCG?

Thanks for any insight.

Honestly i think the thing that makes the biggest difference with B&W speakers is power. I think most of their line dips into the 3ohm territory. I started at 75 watts and i've double the power twice, now at 300w/channel. I can tell you they really wake up at that power level. When i auditioned the CM line they sounded awful, i doubt they're a awful speaker but they were being driver by a inexpensive receiver. If you run the 6 series with a serious amp you will be happy.

For Sale:

Salamander Synergy Triple 20 walnut/black aluminum. Like new.
B&W HTM62 Wenge
Rotel RSX-1057

Local only. Photo's up in gallery, PM for additional info.

I would go with the whole S2 set up especially if you 683s2 with htm61s2 for the center plus is cheaper.

683 s2 or Monitor Audio Silver 8

Im still debating between this two speakers. I currently have Polks RtiA7 powered by a Pioneer SC82 in which can handle 4ohm speakers.

I was thinking in Kef Q700 but I believe I will stay between 683S2 or MA. Inputs? Mainly for HT; about 70% and 30% music.
