Dears ,

I did invest in a PSB  Imagine T2 to be my life time speaker for stereo.

Its powered by Denon AVR x2000 , Source LG DVD Player , I feel that the Vocals are bit timid compared with instruments .I mainly bought these speakers for Classical Music and Vocals . The same goes with DVD movies , the dialogues are not that clear.

I am puzzled , please help !!

Are you just using the 2 speakers?
Did you do the set-up on your Denon?
Are you using Audyssey?
How is your dvd connected to the Denon?

Need more info.

I have these speakers and the vocals should be clear. How far apart are your speakers? Also, how far do you sit from the speakers?

Try them with Audyssey turned off

In your room, have you tried different speaker placements? The vocals are crystal clear for me. I tried to formulate an equal triangle with my speakers 10 feet apart and sitting 11feet back. I get a phantom center for the vocals with this setup. I toe them in slightly so that the sound is aimed slightly pass my shoulders. I also, plug the top port on both speakers.

Are your speakers close to the back wall? Mine are about a foot and half from the back wall.

Good luck

Try the Audyssey Flat curve rather than the Reference curve.  The reference curve has a dip around 2khz that will recess vocals a bit.

It may not hurt to double check your connections - sometimes by mistake, a wire can get mis-connected (positive and negative)
on one end of the speaker or receiver. The same thing can happen with RCA line connections. I have done it before.

Steps done .

1 . Verified connections - OK

2 . Switched to Audessy - Flat - improved the vocals

3 . positioned speakers 10ft apart in the living room and I sit 10 ft away - this has considerably improved  over all listeing experience .

My future plan for PSB Imagine T2's

1 . OPPO BDP - 105 with a Reference DAC.

2 . NAD 326BEE

Any comments friends ?

Are you still not satisfied after the modifications you made? Why not stay with the Denon X2000 and go with a cheaper Blu-ray player? IMHO, the NAD 326BEE isn't going to improve the sound quality and you won't have bass management.

Save your money.  Adding those components will net you zero sonic improvement.

Gentlemen,

It is impressive how quickly the group can come up with the most likely culprits and help someone.. I as well prefer the Audyssey flat setting. Getting speakers at least a foot or two from all boundaries is a necessity. Moving my speakers from 8' apart to 11' to be more "equilateral" significantly improved the soundstage, imaging and also overall fun of movies. The only other thing that should be considered is room treatments.

Cheers.

Glad to see the positioning of speakers helped out a bit with the audyssey settings. You probably will notice the speakers create a more spatial sound and a wider soundstage with that placement.

Now enjoy the music.smile.gif

Dears ,

This is an awesome forum .

I will stick with x2000 and save some money . Only thing attracted about OPPO was dedicated stereo output from their SABRE DAC .

Once again than you for all your inputs !

I'm not sure which LG DVD player you're using, but you may benefit by using a digital connection, such as Toslink, digital coax, or HDMI, from the DVD player to your Denon.

i have a set of psb image t5, although not as high quality as the imagine t2 a similar speaker. i noticed the same thing where the instruments are more prominent than the vocals. also i noticed u were saying that you were looking into the 326bee and a dac, i suggest also looking at the nad 356bee, it has the option for a built in dac direct from nad. or the d 7050. it has a "perfect pitch" setting designed to go with the t2. although at 50 watts a channel that may not be enough to power them compaired to the 80 from the 356

What AMP you are using ? My dealer do not have NAD till MAY 2014 .

I listen to mostly classical and my main interest is the vocals . I searched all the way but couldnt get a thread  about an I-Amp that focus on vocals .

Which Int-AMP is the most suited for vocals ???.. NAD 326BEE / CA 351a / ROTEL / Rega - R / ARCAM  .. the main problem with Dubai is  you can not audition these stuff.

I am OPEN not biased , but indeed looking for a life time stereo AMP.
