Two choices are pioneer sp fs52 or polk tsx 330t. Just trying add 2 fronts. Setup: energy take classics in center, rear, and surround.denon avr 1912 receiver. Any advice is appreciated.

If you are going to an upgrade, I would definitely match the front three.

What is your room size, what do your listen to and what is your budget?

I would recommend the Polks, and also you should get the matching TSx 150c center speaker.

Neither. Put your budget into standmounts instead. Second matching front three.

Krell Evolution 900e x 7

Bose Jewel speakers.

Jealous of my speakers?

Considering you can get the FS-52 for $87 on Amazon right now with free shipping and the matching center for $69.99...I vote the Pioneers. I have these and they are amazing for their price point.

Agreed. Jump on that before the price changes, and put the money you saved towards a better sub smile.gif

Seriously, though. Some people like the Pioneers better; some the Polks. No sense buying the ones that are a lot more expensive unless you can hear them for yourself, and a good sub will make a difference. Especially if you plan on using the Energy Take Classic sub.

go to best buy and listen to the Pioneers and Polks. Then make your decision.

This stand might work for the Pioneer center channel if your TV is not too big for it.

Eventually you'd want a way to move that up. Down near the floor is a bad location for a center channel. Even the middle of the 2nd shelf would be better. You want the tweeter angled up at the listening position.

what sub do you recommend? Have a 7.2 option with my receiver so I can get 2. Room is 16x10

What's your subwoofer budget?

Audioholics recommended the SVS PB-1000 with the Pioneer speakers set. For less money, the NXG Technology NX-BAS-500 would be good if you can find one for under $300 (the PB-1000 is better). The Mordaunt Short Aviano 7 would be far better than the sub that Pioneer pairs with the set.

Was thinking 250-300. Watching pacific rim right now and pretty impressed with my energy sub and oknyo sub. But not against upgrading.

Any crossover suggestions?

What is your stand holding? Blu ray and receiver? If it were me I would simplify it and move those out from below the TV. I'd buy an inexpensive yet well reviewed wall mount from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Plasma-Televisions-models-inches/dp/B000WYVBR0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396239007&sr=8-2&keywords=wall+mount+tv) and then mount the center channel speaker below the TV using this (http://www.amazon.com/Peerless-Adjustable-Component-Shelf-AV/dp/B00155PSXS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396239057&sr=8-2&keywords=center+channel+speaker+mount).

But hey...you gotta do what's right for you. All I'm saying is the Pioneers are going to be your best option if you want nice sound for very little money. Save for a sub and then you will have a very nice system at little cost.

Oh, there is a tremendous difference with movie watching if you go for something like the PB-1000. Think bb gun compared to 357 magnum; moped compared to motorcycle smile.gif

Is that TV stand adjustable? Can you raise it up an inch or two and then put the center on top? It is useless where it is now, I would definitely move it.

Got the center channel underneath the tv. But the tv is sitting above almost on the center channel. Some channels sound echoey. Is that because of crossover, center channel is vibrating against the tv, or something else?

You need to pull the center to front edge of the TV stand. You are likely hearing the reflections off the top of the stand and this will not sound very good. The same goes for your left and right, you want them pulled forward even with the front of the TV stand.

My center used to be on the bottom shelf also. My solution was to wall mount the TV. The center sounds much better now. All 3 of my fronts are even with the front of the stand.

(LCD - Sony KDL - XBR4) (Receiver - Sony STR-DA4ES)(Blu Ray - Oppo BDP-83) (PS3)( Dish Hopper DVR With Sling) Speakers (L & R - Paradigm Studio 20) (Center -Paradigm CC-470) (Surrounds & Back Surrounds - Paradigm SA-15R in walls) (Subwoofer 1 - Sunfire HRS-12) (Subwoofer 2 - Paradigm PW-2100)

I actually just got the TSX330t with the TSX150c (as well as two pairs of TSX110b bookshelves). Check bestbuy they were running a promotion (got everything for $600)

I really enjoy the 330t towers. Low end is a bit lacking (understandable for this price range) but they are well complimented by my BIC PL-200. Honestly, quite pleased with the purchase. If I had more cash, I'd have gone for the 250c center to be safe. If I had much more money, I'd get the 550t towers biggrin.gif

I have not heard the Pioneers so I can't give you a comparison, but I can say the Polks were a definite upgrade over my old Onkyos
