Its just OK. The sub is pretty bad though. It's not really an amazing deal.

Thank you.

I always thought klipsch is a good brand, do you think I can get better speakers in this price range?

Klipsch is a good brand, but their subs are mostly pretty bad. I think you can get a better setup. I would be looking at bookshelf speakers in this range. A couple setups to look at is a 5.1 Hsu Hybrid 2 setup with a $500 receiver of your choice; Yamaha, Onkyo, Denon, Pioneer, Marantz. I would also look at an Ascend/Rythmik LV12 package. Fry's frequently has good deals on the Infinity Primus line, you might wait for a sale of some p363 towers and a c351 center with some p153 or some p163 surround speakers. Add to that a Hsu VTF3 or a SVS PB2000 or a couple of Reaction BPS 212 Turbo subs. If I were going with Klipsch I would get the RB-61 bookshelf speakers, an RC-62 center, and some RB-51 surrounds. Steer clear of the Klipsch subs.

Thanks ShadyJ

I have never heard of Hsu Hybrid brand, Is it a good brand? Ascend seems to be good.

Do you know any 5.1 or 7.1 speaker package range under $2000-2500 range? This is for my media room which is 14X17.

I will check with frys if they have any deals on Infinity speakers. How do you look for sale in frys? on their website?

I just looked at frys website..

JBL Four-way, Dual 6" Floorstanding Loudspeaker is on sale for $144 (the original price is $499). Is this a good deal?

I would look at the JBL L series
http://www.amazon.com/JBL-Performance-8-inch-Floorstanding-Loudspeaker/dp/B000G67Q00/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397054661&sr=8-1&keywords=jbl+l+towers

However, bookshelves can work in place of towers
http://www.amazon.com/JBL-3-Way-6-Inch-Bookshelf-Loudspeaker/dp/B000FYZARY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397055600&sr=8-1&keywords=jbl+l+830

http://www.amazon.com/JBL-Performance-4-Inch-Channel-Loudspeaker/dp/B000LRA6TM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1397055016&sr=8-4&keywords=jbl+l+l+center+speakers

http://www.amazon.com/JBL-Performance-Wall-Mountable-Bookshelf-Loudspeaker/dp/B000FK5Y74/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1397055126&sr=8-3&keywords=jbl+l+l+surround+speakers

And the HSU VTF-3 from post #2

Now that you have done your research on the internet, I would go and listen to some speakers and see what you like. I also think you can get a better bang for your buck in the used market for speakers and purchase a recently discontinued AVR to drive them...That said, evidently AVRs will be coming out with new bells and whistles and HDMI 2,0 which may or may not be useful to you. That's my 2 cents.

They can work in your room

However the bookshelf L830, can work as front channel speakers with a good HSU sub.

Honestly, I am skeptical about the JBL L series. I don't like the idea of a super tweeter, and making the crossover that much more complex on such a low budget also seems like a bad idea. Something has to give on a cheap 4 way tower. I like JBL generally but I think I would stay away from that particular line of speakers. It looks like it was designed to sell base on wowing people with a whole bunch of drivers rather than sensible design.

The L880 and L890 have favorable reviews with Stereophile and SoundStage

A lot (that is many) people, are quite happy with these speakers.

OP, at the current deal prices - I would keep them on a short list.

Your call - I do not recommend speakers that I feel negative about.
