Ok. So I bought the Andrew Jones bookshelf speakers/center channel and loved them. Excellent speakers for the money. Well now the wife would really prefer something smaller/more aesthetically pleasing. Can you guys help me out? I've considered the take classics, monoprice 10565's, etc. Is there such thing as smaller bookshelf speakers without having to go with the satellites? The sound of the Pioneers was excellent to my ears, and I'm afraid if I step to the satellite size that I might not be happy. Trying to find a happy and affordable medium here. Thanks for your input in advance!
If your wife falls in love with the looks, you'll be in like Flynn. These are an outstanding compact speaker.
Agreed - The Imagine series speakers are a great value - we use them in our media room. The Imagine minis are great as L/R or as bookshelves.
If you want something a little more budget friendly, with very cool looks and excellent reviews on C/NET, look at the Gallo Audio round speakers - 4" and 5" versions.
I was strongly thinking about them for video sound, but remain a PSB fan, having Synchrony floor-standers for audio-only.
So are those NHT's $85 a piece? And do they sell a center channel that matches them? Thanks.
Yes they are priced individually. There isn't a Super Zero Center, but the Absolute Center is voiced the same and would work well. The best option however would be the use another SuperZero 2.1, identical speakers up front is the most ideal scenario, and these are small enough for most people to accommodate a vertical center.
EMP e41 or e41b if you can find them. I've got the Micca mb42x and they're not too bad at all really. Quite a few people have said they sound better than the bs22's (those that have both pairs to compare at the same time).
Go used. You will find that your money can get better speakers. PSB Image bookshelfs, old b&w bookshelfs, early wharfedale 8.x series, Paradigm monitor series, kef uni-q stuff etc for under $200 a pair.
