I'm looking for a new pair of floor speakers and a new center. I'm trying too get as much sound into my living room as possible (a large room at 25x20x10 ceiling). I already have an SVS sub and rears.

I'd like to spend $1k or less. My AVR is a Yamaha RX-V673.

I just visited my local (and only!) audio store (not including BB). They used to be quite a store but now are clearly catering to just high end home installs and therefore handle very little actual product in house. They had Klipsch, Paradigm and Revel. And none of it set up for real world testing. Anyhow, I've decided in light of this that I'm going to stick with online options and would like some suggestions for the above.

Thanks!

Three Arx A2rx-c would be a great option. Others would be HSU Research HB-1Mk2 and HC-1 Mk2, Aperion Audio Intimus 5B and 5C. All three options would be within your budget.

Better than the similarly priced JBL or Infinity offerings?

I don't know much about JBL offerings. The Infinity stuff is good but I think Arx, HSU and a few others are alittle ahead of them. The Arx A2 is a pretty powerful setup especially running 3 across the front, I ran that setup for awhile and it was great. Until I upgraded to the larger A5 towers for L/R and the A2s moved to surrounds with a A2 as center.

You can get a pair of EMPtek e55Ti and the big center for right around a 1,000 bills and those sound and look great.

Maybe just a few shekels over 1000, but great speaker for the money! There are speakers AS GOOD in the price range, but I haven't heard anything clearly better.

Set up #1: EMP e5ti, e5Ci, and EMP e5Bi surrounds, Outlaw LFM1 Plus sub, EMP 10i10i sub
Set up #2: Def Tech SM450, CLR2002, SLS Qline surrounds and Klipsch 12wD sub
