Hey guys, first time on forums. So recently my grandfather past and we were cleaning out his basement when we found a pair of JBL L100Ts and a harman/kardon PM665 Vxi (amp?). I was wondering how to test/setup it up? Sorry, I have almost no skills in audio, definitely not an audiophile. Any tips how to setup, clean (they are dusty) are greatly appreciated. I know the basic of buying wire and connecting, but am not really sure how/what to plug into what.

Thanks in advance,

Sparater

Turn the amp volume to zero. Connect some speaker wire from the speaker inputs to the amplifier "Speaker 1" outputs (red to red and black to black). Then use a 3.5mm to RCA adapter (available most anywhere for a few dollars) to connect your MP3 player, computer, phone, or other device capable of playing music to the Aux input. Select "Speakers 1" on the amp and the Aux input.

Start your music playing, plug in the amp, turn it on, and slowly increase the volume until you hear something. If it doesn't work, try other speakers or try the JBLs on another working stereo system.

Hey mtn, thanks for the reply. I followed your instructions, and even used banana plugs on the speaker end (I put the plugs on the wire and then connected it to the speaker. I YouTubed this out). Next, I put the opposite end into the amp. However, there is no sound, even if the amp is on. I used an RCA cable and put it to AUX to my phone. Could it be my wires?

If I unplug my phone and turn the volume all the way up, the speakers do not make any sound. with my computer speakers I would hear a little buzz if it's all the way up with nothing playing. Could this mean something?

Did you select "speaker 1" on the amp?
