Hello,

I am pretty new to this Speakers, Sub Woofers and Receivers section. I am looking for 7.1 Surround sound speakers for in wall ceiling.

I am planning to purchase the below 7.2 Receiver ( Please let me know whether its good choice as i am looking for 4K upscaling for future proof)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA2GA1JV6946

Can someone suggest me good speakers ( 7 channel) and a good sub woofer

Budget, room size, listening preferences, why do you want in-wall?

Thanks

Actually this is new home build and the builder gave option of 7 speaker system. Builder had pre wired to the room. I am not sure of room sixe but this room is main living area.
My Budget is from medium to high ( not very high end)

If future proofing is a priority for you I would consider one of the new Atmos capable receivers.

Theater room: Sony VPL HW30ES, DIY 100" screen with Seymour Centerstage XD, 5 Revel M105, 2 JBL Studio 210, 4 SVS SB12-NSD, Anthem MRX-300
Living room: Panasonic TC-P60VT60, 3 KEF LS50, Pioneer SW-8, Marantz NR1603

You must be able to provide a rough size and ceiling height and if open to other rooms. Ask the builder.

Budget. How about a dollar value medium to high end is 2-10k for some ans 20-100+k for others.

If you care about future proofing, I would get a HDMI 2.0 receiver. The receiver you are looking at is not HDMI 2.0. Some of the new lower end Yamahas have implemented HDMI 2.0. HDMI 2.0 will allow 4k @ 60 FPS and 3d 4k, but the receiver you are looking at will not. I'm guessing the reason the price is so low is because they are clearancing out stock for the new Avantage HDMI 2.0 receivers. If you want to buy a future proof receiver right now, the best one is the Denon AVR-X3100w. Someone mentioned Atmos a bit further up, I wouldn't worry about Atmos yet, because you are in for a looong wait for Atmos compatible receivers.

You need to go somewhere and listen to a variety of speakers and decide which ones you like, because speaker preferences are quite personal in nature. My suggestion is to take a look at speaker recommendations at sound and vision dot com, and then track down dealers for the speakers in your budget range. I personally like speakers from B&W, KEF, PSB, Paradigm, Golden Ear, etc, but there are lots of other really good speakers out there. No one will be able to tell you exactly which speaker set up you should buy, This is a very personal decision that only you can make after listening to them in a good acoustic environment.

Good luck in your search and let us know what you eventually buy.

One of these subwoofers should suffice for $500 - $600

http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/ported-box/PB-1000

http://outlawaudio.com/products/lfm1plus.html

http://outlawaudio.com/products/lfmEX.html

That leaves you roughly $2500 for speakers.

Where are you located? What stores do you have nearby?

You want in-wall/ in-ceiling speakers for everything? Why? That sure reduces the quality of your system.
