Suggestion for 5.1 setup (3 L/C/R satellite white) + 2 Rear In-Ceiling for under $1k

Current equipment is:
Denon AVR-X2000
Sony BDP-S6200
Apple TV
(In process of buying TV...)

The room dimensions are 17" x 15".
75% - Movies. 25% - TV.

I already have a subwoofer so I don't necessarily need to spend money at this time to replace it. It is hidden behind sofa so can be any color.

Front Speakers L/C/R: Need 3 white satellite speakers to be mounted to ceiling..

Rear speakers: In-Ceiling. These will be used over the sofa.

Now that I have purchased the equipment, I am ready to pull the trigger on my speakers.

Thanks in advance....

For really small speakers, it is hard to beat Definitive Technology. Their speakers with 4 1/2" mid-range drivers sound like much bigger speakers. And some of their in-wall / in-ceiling speakers have integrated cabinets and sound like real speakers even when mounted in the wall or ceiling.

These come in white and can be purchased individually:

Very good in-wall speakers:

If I did the Promonitor 1000 for L/R, would I need to do the 2000 for center?

Also, how reprehensible is it to do the Boston Acoustic In-ceiling from A4L?
I remember reading that you shouldn't mix manufacturers but not sure why.

Finally, is Promonitor the only quality game in town for quality white satellite speakers?

Thanks again for your input.

If you did decide to go with the Definitive Tech speakers, bajawaverunner on eBay does have some of the white ProMonitors in stock so you could save some money if you don't mind refurbished items with only 90 day warranty as opposed to their normal 5 year warranty. Not sure how perfect of a match they are but they do have some 4.5" and 6.5" DI series in-ceilings in stock as well.

I would go with three Absolute Zero bookshelves in white for the front, and then a pair of Polk OWM3 in white for your surrounds. There isn't a problem with having a different brand for the surrounds, just the front three need to match. You can also get on-wall versions of the Absolute Zero which aren't as deep and would probably work better.

Seems to me that some white speakers were recommended in your previous thread from a few months back ....
