Energy Take classic... Paired with older marantz

Hey guys - long time lurker - finally have a question I would love the knowledgeable community here to answer !

I have inherited a Marantz 7300ose receiver and am going to put a small 5.1 setup together in the basement. I have heard and read great things about the energy take classic speaker package - my question is (aside from the ohms being ok) is if this combo would prove too much power for the energy speakers. That said - is the receiver up to the task? Has component but no hdmi.

Also open to any other speaker packages as suggestions. With a kid on the way, am trying to do this on a budget!

Thanks all - appreciate the help!

Only if you turn it up too loud. Marantz 7300ose is a very capable receiver. Is there a reason why you need such small speakers like the Takes? Bookshelf speakers would be better than satellites.

If you have a budget how much is it?

Thanks Afro - was going with the Takes for the surround package... vs. building piece-by-piece at this time...

Looking to spend roughly $500...

I actually also have access to some paradigm bookshelf speakers...

I would take Paradigm bookshelf speakers over Take Classics.

Which Paradigms?

This subwoofer and your Paradigms would make a nice setup.

And go 2.1 at higher quality vs 5.1 with the takes?

Or get that sub and 4 Infinity P153's. Nice 4.1 setup under $500.

there ya go...

Or buy a 5th P153 and place it horizontally if you don't space to use it upright as a center.

Can I grab 3 infinity and use the paradigms as well? Or is mixing the brands not ideal?

Oh and one last question (again, really appreciate the help) - but being in Canada, I can't seem to find the p153's nor the sub... any comparable suggestions by chance?

Thanks!

Do you live close to a border city? If so have them shipped via Kinek, then drive over the border and pick them up.

You never mentioned you were in Canada until now. Maybe you should put that in your profile? Kind of a key point to leave out...

Yes, you could use the Paradigms as surrounds. Your front 3 speakers should match though.
