Speaker System brand new room

I am building a home and am excited to start working on the media room. The room is upstairs and right now the walls are up no Sheetrock. I purchased some smurf blue tubing for the 5.1 setup, and HDMI cable to the projector. I already own the projector Epson 8550, my overall budget is $2000for the speakers/screen/receiver. This is what I have come up with please make modifications I am very new at this so any help would be greatly appreciated. If there are areas I am under, or over for the overall setup let me know I am open to insults Thanks!

1. Epson 8550 Projector

2. Elite Screen 110 Inch - $300
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00366TZ3S/...FY2Q17KV&psc=1

3. (2) CMT 340 speakers - Do these need stands on left and right of wall, or should I mount them? $568

4. (1) CMT 340 center - mounted below projector screen $298

5. (1) Rhythmik E15 Sub - $599

6. (1) Denon AVR-X2000 $299

Those are some great choices! Ascend offers excellent performance, and the 340 front sound stage will give you a very dynamic sound. I would however swap the sub to the Outlaw LFM-1 EX. It is currently on sale for $599 shipped, and this is a VERY good sale that ends tomorrow at midnight. This will dig deeper and have better output than the LV12R.

The X2000 is a great choice and offers up the second best version of Audyssey.

I don't see any surrounds listed, but you could pick up a pair of just about anything to use.

Living Room
Samsung PN60F5300 | Denon DBP-1611 | Roku 3
Denon AVR-1713 | EMP E55Ti | EMP E56Ci | EMP E5Bi | BIC F-12

Computer
Topping TP23 | NHT SuperZero 2.0 | Velodyne DEQ-8R

Thanks for the advice! The surrounds will come later after the initial install. Any tips for the walls while they are still open? I see you live in Raleigh, Clayton here

Hey close by!

The only thing I might consider is going with an acoustically transparent screen. The AT version of the screen you chose is $200 more, but what this does is allow you to mount all three front speakers vertically at the same height. This is the most ideal scenario and will improve your imaging. Since the walls are open, you could frame some cutouts for the three speakers, so they sit in the wall and the screen can be mounted flush.

If this is something you would consider, I would go with the Chane Theater Ten speakers instead, the cost is about the same as the Ascends, but you gain a high efficiency theater speaker designed to produce superior dynamics. They are also front-ported so you could put them in the cutouts without worrying about port interference.

Both setups will sound great, but the latter would provide a better theater experience.

This screen: http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Screens-...sparent+screen

And this is the speaker I was referring to: http://www.chanemusiccinema.com/chan...rs/Theater-Ten

These are high efficiency speakers designed to be used in a theater. They are a smaller, more affordable version of the kind of speakers a movie theater would use. Ascend 340s would still work well up front, as long as you can give them 6" or so of space behind the port.

So is a transparent screen used for installing speakers in the wall behind the screen? Or is it just a better quality screen for video?

Both, it would be a good upgrade if you wanted to spend some more, but not necessary.

Ok so my plan is to center the screen on the wall, and build 3 shelves for the speakers behind. The speakers I would purchase are:

What would be a good center channel speaker that can fit in the wall?

Sound like a good plan?
You would want three of the Theater Ten speakers, being able to use three identical speakers is the big benefit of an acoustically transparent screen.

Very nice. That gave me an idea on the right side is my walk in attic. I might just run all the wires into the attic and build a cabinet flush with the wall for the stereo/dvd. I will take some pictures tonight so you can see what I am talking about.

That would be a good idea, makes for a much cleaner look and you could easily route the wires to the speakers.

Make sure to consult the Dolby website to get the proper speaker placement. It's a lot harder to change once you have them in the wall :P
