Initial hook up for B&W CM5's and Center Channel

Just ordered B&W CM5 and matching center. My Sub is SVS PB12. 2 Satellites are KEF. Wondering what this forum thinks is the best way to hook this all up. All powered by a Marantz SR7008. Can I use the bare speaker wire on current system and just switch the components or are banana plugs better for these speakers? Also, Do you think there is a need for an additional amplifier for more power?

Banana plugs are a nice convenience, not
A necessity. Bare wire works just fine.

Your Marantz should have plenty of power for
Your speakers. Also, with your nice sub you
Will probably be using bass mgmt which will
Lessen the load on the Marantz even more!

Nice speakers....enjoy!

Agreed. Banana plugs are a nice convenience but not a necessity. The CM5s dip down to 4.4 ohms (http://www.soundandvision.com/conten...-labs-measures) but the Marantz SR7008 should handle the CM5s with no problem especially with Audyssey engaged.

With Audyssey engaged will there be much or any speaker setting adjustments on the Marantz?

Sometimes Audyssey sets crossover points too low.
With those speakers I would set them at 80hz...
But no lower than 60hz.

Finally have the new receiver, new sub, and new fronts setup and playing some music. Biamped this time around. What a jump in performance from the old setup. Center channel comes in tmrw. Imagine my novice shock when last night no dialogue played during "IronMan". Brief armchair grabbing wide eyed horror. Worth the cash.

They are wonderful paired with the SVS PB12 Plus. I was poised for the Paradigm S2's but saved a bundle and not a huge sound difference IMHO. Ive been listening to various types of music for hours and the B&W's deliver. I think the fullness the sub brings has alot to do with it. Leaves nothing lacking on any level. My other system sucked.
