What Surround(rear) Speakers to Buy?

Hi experts,

I'm in need of two surround speakers for my 5.1 system. I've been reading about bipole, dipole, Direct-Radiating Monopole, etc. but still have no clue what to get.

Here's what I have:

Receiver: Sony STR DN 1040

Sub: SVS PB1000

Front: GoldenEar Technology Triton Seven Loudspeakers

Center: SuperCenter X

My room is a mid-size room with very little space behind seating position (2 ft) and my budget is around $600.

I originally was considering either one of the Klipsch's reference series or Paradigm Surround 1, but not sure if they are the best choice. At some point, I even considered buying the Klipsch tower speakers and use them as surround/rear speakers.

I would appreciate any advice/suggestion. If you don't know the exact model, it would be great to educate me what I should be looking for, I'll do the looking.

Since you're that close to rear speakers, I'd definietly look into diffused speakers.

I own dipole and bipoles. have used dipole on side, bipole on rears but I bought another set of identical bipoles so I have bipoles on sides & rears. About 3' away from sides and rears. Much prefer diffused when you're that close.

Use BP-2X now.

I'd try and match with the fronts, but if matching rears aren't available, or just too expensive (ie compare SVS Ultra bookshelf to the SVS Ultra rears) then just get good quality surround speakers.

Krell Evolution 900e x 7

Bose Jewel speakers.

Jealous of my speakers?

Because of the space limitation, I planned to use either bipole or dipole speakers on side (3-4ft distance from sitting position). You said you replaced dipole with bipole, why? Do dipoles create to much spaciousness?

I still have the dipoles, but I think with modern soundtracks the need for dipoles isn't required so much. If I wanted I could re-wire the dipoles to convert them to bipoles, just a 10 minute job.

Bipoles are more direct sounding surround speaker.

Dipoles sound like when you have one ear bunged up, you can hear it from the other ear, but not so much and it's hard to tell exactly where it is. That is the dipole effect if listening to a single dipole if the face of the speaker is facing towards you (drivers firing out to 3 and 9 o clock)

check out AXIOM AUDIO's Qs8's or the qs4's and they are very forgiving in placement options
b stocks when available are a steal
I have 4 qs8's and love them

Dipoles on the sides
Bipoles on the rears

Or you can use

What do you guys think of Polk Audio FXi A4 or A6? I can get an A6 for $500.

Does it worth it or it's overkill?

Thanks

Edit:
Also, I'm quite intrigued by the idea behind Axiom QS8/QS4. Is it just a gimmick or it actually works?

Klipsch RS-42 II Surround Speaker also seems interesting.

I have a set of the FXi A4 setting on the sides in my 7.1 system. I don't think they are overkill. They have a good solid sound and like some power as all polks do. I run them in di-pole. I think I tried both ways but it seemed to sound about the same to me. Remember just me or I might start a firestorm over bi or di LOL
