Will My Reciever Blow My New Speakers?

I have these:
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SP-BS4.../dp/B0045US6DE

and I'm thinking about buying these:
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SP-BS2.../dp/B004MEWZE4

I asked a friend of mine if there would be a noticeable difference or any risks to having one set of speakers using 130 watts rms and the other pair of speakers using 80 watts rms. He was worried that the wattage difference may cause the 80 watt rms speakers to blow even though the receiver can handle that many watts, so the questions I have are:

1.Will I notice a difference between 130 watt rms bookshelf speakers and 80 watt rms bookshelf speakers?

2.Will the wattage difference run a risk of blowing my 80 watt rms speakers with my receiver?

Thanks!

1) That is the power handling of the speaker. What do you mean "notice a difference"
2) Only if you are daft with the volume control. But then if you have a amp that is too powerful, or not powerful enough and unable to tell when the speaker is sounding bad.

I'm using a 300W amp into 200W speakers. It's fine.

Krell Evolution 900e x 7

Bose Jewel speakers.

Jealous of my speakers?

Power handling won’t do anything for being able to tell a difference between the speakers. That is more about the sensitivity of the speakers. If one is much more sensitive than the other then it will be louder will less power. The BS41 has a sensitivity of 85db and the BS21 has a sensitivity of 84 db. Too close to be able to tell a difference.

Short answer, with those speakers no, you won’t be able to tell a difference and no, your receiver won’t blow either of them.

Yes, but it has nothing to do with the power ratings. It appears that your current speakers have 5.25 inch woofers, while the ones you want to get have 4 inch woofers. Assuming the woofers are of similar quality 4 inch woofers won't produce as much output as 5.25 inch woofers. In short, you're downgrading. The operative question is why?

Because the 130 watt bookshelf speakers that I have aren't being sold anymore from anywhere I can find online unless I wanted to buy used ones for $130 or a brand new pair for $210, if you have any ideas on what else I could get to match the speakers I already have please let me know because I'm kind of stuck in a bad position.

Better question, are you planning to use the smaller speakers as front speakers or surrounds? If surrounds then it really doesn't matter as the surrounds don't get 1/5 the content of front speakers.

Whichever you buy its doubtful you'll blow them.

There is a used pair of BS-41 on ebay for $65 Buy It Now and another still on auction.
