Question Advise on 5.1 setup for my living room.

Looking to spend around $2,000-2,500 for speakers and sub woofer. Will want floor standing speakers for the fronts. As far the receiver goes I was looking at the Denon X4100 coming out in October and have budgeted accordingly. My living room has two open spaces so the room itself is not very optimal for a home theater setup so keep that in mind (Don’t have a choice) Not sure if there are any speakers out there that are more forgiving in this type of room? The room measures 20 ft x 15.5 ft x 8ft so it 2560 cubic feet. My main use will be watching TV, playing PS4, and Movies. Music listing quality is a nice to have but not what I am purchasing the speakers for. Any suggestions?

Take a look at EMP, they have a very good neutral sound with a rolled off top-end, and offer up great imaging and dynamics. The E55Ti towers, E56Ci center, and E5Bi bookshelves would run you $1350 shipped, and that leaves you enough for a nice sub like the SVS PB-2000.

What about the Aperion Verus Grand Tower, Center Channel, and book shelves for my setup? I know its double the price but question is how does it rate vs the EMP's?

I haven't heard Aperion, but they seem to be well-liked. At that price though you have a lot of options so you need to listen to some speakers to know what kind of sound you like.
