PSB Century 500i vs Infinity Primus 360

Hi Guys,

This is my first post but I was reading this forum for a while.

I'm looking into buying new speakers and I came across two options:

1. Infinity Primus 360 (Mint condition) - $275
2. PSB Century 500i (Mint condition) - $160

I would be using them 70% for movies and 30% music. My amp is Yamaha V575 and my room is 13x20sqft.

Which ones in your opinion would work best for me?

Thanks,
Mc

I will let you know, once you let me know what lamp I should buy from Home Depot.

No one can guarantee which one is the best for you - if you can hear them then check
the sound out - make sure they are both in good shape and that the drivers look good.

Depending where you live the Primus 360 for $275 isn't that great of a deal. Fry's Electronics sells the newer Primus P363 for $107 each at least once a month. Now if you don't live on the West Coast or have a Fry's nearby or not in the USA then the Primus 360 for $275 is a fair deal.

I've never heard the PSB but the review are very good. That might be a higher end speaker than the Infinity and $110 cheaper too. If you're planning to build a 5.1 system you'll need to find a match center. That might be more difficult with the PSB.

But ultimately you need to listen to both speakers to see which sounds best to YOU. That's the most important thing. We don't have your ears or know your preferences.

Good luck

@zieglj01 I'd say this one as its pretty modern looking http://www.homedepot.com/p/ZUO-Cosmi...0014/203128930
it depend though on the style/design of the room you wanna put it in.

But this is just my opinion

I live in Vancouver but have a mailing address in US so can ship there easily but it seems like Fry's sell em for $400/pair http://www.frys.com/product/6878376?...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

I'm leaning towards the Century 500i due to the price and the good reviews but my only concern is the age of the speaker (although it is in mint condition) and that its 2way vs the infinity which is 3way.

I'd love to hear your guy's thoughts on that.

Amazon usually sells the P363 for the same price as Fry's around the same time, I wouldn't pay $275 for them.

Denon AVR-1713 | EMP E55Ti | EMP E56Ci | EMP E5Bi | BIC F-12

I did say when Fry's put them on sale about once a month. Current price may be $199 each but WHEN THEY COME ON SALE the price is $107 each.

For example on 7/31 they were $107.

I'd love to hear your guy's thoughts on that.
2 way vs 3 way doesn't matter if the 2 way uses better components. One brands 2 way can often be better than another brands 3 way.

As far as the age and condition of the speakers you can inspect them before you purchase.
