Best small speakers to compare with B&W M1MW

Hey guys -

Well good news is I got the approval for doing small satellites instead of in the wall speakers. So wanted to get some advice on other speakers to consider. I heard these B&W's at best buy and thought for what they were they were pretty decent.

Thanks!

Justin

One thing to keep in mind is their very low sensitivity; 85 db/watt.

That may not work very well with a lot of receivers.

I suggest that you look at the Audioengine P4 speakers. They have much better frequency response and sensitivity and are small enough for mounting almost anywhere.

Buy what sounds good to you. Don't give a second thought to whether your receiver will handle them or not.

Hard to know what sounds good when I can't go hear then. I'm considering buying a few different seeing what I like and then returning what i don't.

Wow these look fantastic, a bit over what I planed on spending but from the reviews they look like they are worth it!

May do the 5.1 for den and 2.1 for living room

For kitchen and dining room perhaps I'll go with 4 of the b&w's.....

Actually now I see they make a version without a sub! So maybe it's 1x 5.1, 1x2.1, 2x 2.0 setups and I'll be rocking!!

For a less critical room - there is the Focal Sib on close-out pricing

Do you work for focal

So the question is who can I buy these from and return within 30 days for a refund if I don't love the sound? I did think the M1 was pretty decent...

I need to just fine a place to listen to all these. I'm in the NYC area and see HIDEF is possibly worth the trip from CT for me.

No, I do not work for Focal - however, they make nice stuff

All the places linked, should have a 30 day return policy

Awesome thank you so much for stopping me from making a conclusive purchase on the M1's ... Gut told me bestbuy probably wasn't the best place to end my search .

Looks like a few places nearby may have then so I'll call around. Worst case just order and return if I don't like.

Just purchased 11 focal domes and two subwoofers to put throughout the house! Will also add a set of B.A. Voyagers for outside and my old advent towers in the gym. All this powered with an avr 4250 and avr x4000 from denon using 6 apple airplay devices and distinct zones. One room will have a 5.1.

Very excited to get the house completed and get things rockin with the new system!
