JBL Es30 spks

I bought 4 JBL]es 30 bookshelf spks for surround ch ,they are not made to hang on the wall no mounting hardware on the spks, should I drill holes in the spks to mount them on the wall or put up shelves to put them on? If I hang them the problem is there's a port in the back, thxs

The problem with drilling wholes in speakers is you can diminish their value should you decide to sell them later on. But if you simply screwed on a picture hanger it shouldn't hurt that much. There are also mounting brackets that clamp on the the sides/bottom of the speaker but they tend to be a bit expensive.

As for the bass ports, if the speakers doesn't sound quite right when placed to close to the wall then stick a foam plug in it. Or an old sock. Wash it first, though.

BTW, I've used shelves or stands in the past for larger bookshelf speakers.

No, do not drill holes

Look at the VideoSecu speaker mounts - sold by the pair

He's right, the ES30 is not a small speaker as it weighs 19lbs. Better off using the VideoSecu wall mounts he linked.

Thanks everyone,I looked at videosecur but the spks are wedge shaped wider in the front, narrow in back I don't think those mounts would work

I think the clamp would still work with your speakers. You could also add Blu Tack or Velcro strips on the bottom of the speaker to additionally secure them to the base plate.

Maybe if I placed some rubber between the clamps and spk it would hold it.
