I was looking at these speakers on their web site and noticed all the awards they received. I haven't had a chance to audition yet. The closest dealer might not have them. About a year ago he started hiding Def. Tech in the finished basement (reason unknown). If a customer didn't know they were there I doubt if they would be told. The other dealer (50 miles away) used to display them but now only does special orders (no demos).

I will be mainly using them for music (old Dual 1229Q turntable) & radio.
Thanks for any input.

Send an e-mail to DefTech about this pathetic situation.

Actually, I'm quite happy with my two DefTech systems, but they are not the same models you are looking at and I have only listened to them casually at my dealers.

I've casually listened to the PM700's at a local dealer. They sounded pretty darn good. I ended up with SM350's instead. I've got proper subwoofers and x-over at 80Hz so having "full range" mains became a non-issue for me. YMMV.
