$2K Budget for In-Walls - Make me Sound Good!

Hello,

I'm finishing my basement and am at the stage where I need to decide on my speakers. Quite frankly I'm overwhelmed and need some help. Here is a breakdown of what I have to work with:

1. Budget - $2,000ish, speakers only. No Sub, No Receiver, No wiring.
2. In-Wall/Ceiling speakers only. I want to keep the floor area clear.
3. Pre-wired for 7.1 with the surround speakers restricted to the ceiling because of the room. Rear speakers are wired into the wall behind the seating area.
4. Room - Approximately 15x20
5. Listening interests - Movies, Live Sports, Games, Music(pretty much in that order).

I probably left out some pertinent information that's necessary but, I'm a novice with speakers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Ok.. just for fun
3 x Klipsch PRO-6502-L-THX for LRC
4 x Klipsch R-5502-W for Surrounds.

You can find them on Amazon and then look at more buying options for better price. That should be in your ballpark. I know some others will come up with great options too.

Thanks for the reply. I've looked at the Klipsch in-walls the most but, the 5502's push my budget past that $2K mark quite a bit. I'm also looking for round speakers for the 2 in the ceiling.

The price bounces around a lot on amazon. You could also go with the R-3800-W II. I wouldn't go with any of the models below that. I went some R-1650-W and they were not good. They get good reviews, but I would never buy them again. You might want to call AVScience and see if they can put a package together for you. You don't have to buy, but you might get in your ballpark.

Do the 6502's work good for a center channel as well?

The PRO 6502's were $458 on Amazon a few days ago. Now they are up to $699. I should have jumped on them when I had the chance. I may go with the 5502's for the LCR and the CDT 3800 for the ceiling speakers. I listened to some martin logans and bowers and wilkens in the same price range and was not impressed.

Anyone else have in-wall suggestions? How about purchasing of Ebay? Are there any reputable sellers there?

I have heard good Yamaha speakers
I have heard bad Yamaha speakers

Same with most popular brand. They became popular somehow, and at some point, as usual, they maximized profits on the market... also known as... greed at cost of people's money.
