Are monitors a good choice for home theater

I'm pretty much a novice, just starting to piece together a new home theater.

I've got a Denon AVR-X4300H 9.2 receiver, two Pinnacle Towers for LR Fronts, a Pinnacle Center, and 4 Klipsch KHC-6 in-ceiling for Top Fronts and Top Rears.

I see a good price on a set of Klipsch R-15PM Powered Monitors (50% off). I don't know much about the purpose of a monitor. Would these be a good choice for Surrounds or Surround Rears with what I've got so far?

Not sure why you would get powered monitors for rears when your receiver has perfectly good amps for the rears.

Half off would be $250/pair.

These are relatively compact and with the optional wall mounts would still not be $250/pair.

20% off right now with promo code QED20.

Got it... don't need monitors. Thanks for the suggestion, gajCA.

The work great and take some work load off the amps. I have the r15m for high fronts and front wides and they sound great with all my klipsch pro line ki-102 speakers
