Tower Speaker needs Repair - Finding a shipping box?

Hello, I have a Phase Technology PC 9.5 tower speaker that needs to go back for repair.

I of course kept the original boxes when I bought them 5 years ago, but I had some water damage in my old apartment's storage closet due to a faulty sprinkler system and they were unfortunately destroyed.

Not only do I need a suitable box, but I need to rig some kind of padding/bracing structure up inside the box so that the weight of the enclosure doesn't end up crushing the drivers.

I contacted the manufacturer to see if they would be willing to provide the shipping materials but was just told to go to wal-mart.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Dimensions are 46"x9"x15" and weight is 66 pounds. It isn't a rectangular prism, it has curved sides.

Thanks.

Uline - Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angles, Seattle -

I'm guessing you will need a box roughly 48" H x 12" D x 16" to 18" W

They will UPS ship the boxes to you, and from my experience, no minimum order.

Here are a couple of boxes that might work better. These are telescoping boxes. That is they have fixed width and depth, but the height is adjustable from 40" to 74".

That you could use, the have 16 x 16, 18 x 18, and 20 x 20. I suspect the 18" x 18" would be about right.

S-11249 = 16" x 16" x (40" to 74") - $7.42 each -

S-20428 - 18" x 18" x (40" to 74") - $8.61 each -

S-11250 - 20" x 20" x (40" to 74") - $9.79 each -

Might try the loading dock at local furniture stores, I was able to find plenty of packing material. Those 'Pool Noodle' soft Styrofoam flotation toys could come in handy as well, and they are relatively cheap.
Check the AudioKarma.org 'Packing and Shipping' forum for more ideas. http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.p...g-shipping.87/
