All in black. I preferred to get Rosenut, but that doesn't exactly match the new A/V console that SWMBO is getting as part of our compromise, so black it is.

I don't have room in our living room to go with a 7.1 setup. Maybe some day.

I feel like a kid at Christmas, can't wait for this stuff to come in.
You'll love that setup.

It seems as though they will officially make the 30th anniversary speakers a new series, or they at least took some designs from it? The stands are the same in that picture...

Edit: weren't there rumors about a change in name? Something like a Studio HT100, or Signature HT100? I think I got it wrong, but will someone confirm?

Knowing my luck Studio v6 will come out at Cedia and I'll be a generation behind. That's not necessarily a bad thing considering my display is a 2004 1st gen Panny plasma.

I am seriously stoked for this stuff to arrive and get it set up. The SACD of Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon - 40th Anniversary arrived today and those are the inaugural tracks to christen the system.

I have a similar system and also a huge Floyd fan as well. The DSOTM and WYWH SACD are AWESOME! Another fav is Dire Straits Brothers In Arms, also SACD.

It's a shame there aren't more 5.1 SACD's of
Classic rock. I just can't get into classical music...
(Which has the most multi-channel titles)
I've tried but just don't feel it.
You should see the look my wife gives me..LOL.

I have the above mentioned titles too,
And a couple more...
Derek and the Dominos-Layla
Allman Bros-eat a peach
Santana-Supernatural (dvd audio)
Sheryl Crow-Globe Sessions

My fave is Layla, not because of 5.1 mix, it's the album itself...
It just speaks to me. Timeless classic rock.

Congrats on the setup! Very exciting.

Steely Dan's Gaucho has been a real multichannel reference disk for me. Incredible separation.

Anything from CD Japan - - usually more expensive and it takes a little longer to get here, but it's worth it. Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" is a real classic. (Serial: SICP-10083) Pay close attention to the "Serial Number." SA-CD.net can provide great reviews and interesting comments on popular and not so popular multichannel discs. http://www.sa-cd.net/home

Sounds like you're going to catch multichannel mania. I recognize the symptoms! Ebay can provide some good buys and even Amazon can have some multichannel discs. I've heard Avalon - Roxy Music is great but very pricey.

Enjoy!!!

Home Theater Setup
Samsung UN65ES8000 LCD/LED
BenQ W1080ST Projector
Pioneer SC65 (Pre-Amp)
Wyred4Sound MMC-7 Channel Amplifier, 221wpc
OPPO 103, Directv GENIE
Darbee Darblet
ALL Paradigm - 7.1 - Studio 60's, V.2 (FL/FR)
CC-690, V.5 (C)
ADP 590 V.5 (SS)
MilleniaOne 2.0 (BS) - Velodyne 810 Sub

I like your taste in music. Throw in Beck's Sea Change and you've covered all my favorite SACD's to listen to with my 'Digms.

There's nothing to see here.

Just noticed that my local dealer has what appears to be a fairly "sharp" discount on items in the Monitor line right now. Just wondering if there is a v8 in the works? Or possibly the dealer is just trying to clear stock.

Strongly considering a Monitor 11, Center 3 and Mini setup....

Boston Acoustics Classic series L/C/R + front presence; Fluance XLBP Bipole surrounds; PSA XS15se
Yamaha RX-A3040; Emotiva XPA-3
Oppo BDP-103D

Just noticed on Paradigm's website that they changed the wording about for their teaser. Instead of saying they will be unveiling "Reference Class" speakers, they changed it to just "New loudspeakers".

Hi. This is my first post on any non sport forum!
Some advice please re paradigm.
Current setup is monitor 7's
Cinema 200 as centre
Cinema 100 as surrounds but placed on rear wall due to room limitations
Pdr 100 sub

I am considering replacing the monitor 7 fronts with bookshelves so that they are out of reach of my two year old.

Which speakers would you advise that would match the setup sonically yet be good for music and home theatre. I dont need super loud setup as wife gets peeved if i crank it up too much. Receiver is marantz sr6008

I dont mind changing the centre also. Just dont want to mess with the rears as they were hard to mount due to issues with the rear wall

Thanks

Would be interesting, if they made the Studio line, the new monitors, the Signature line, the new Reference Studios, with new high-end speakers to take the Signatures place?

Honestly, this is not a good time to buy any Paradigm speakers until the reveal because of, discounted prices, new speakers, monitor v8, new Studios v6, new Signatures v4?

I agree! I was going to buy a set of Studio 100's last week, but something came up, so I wasn't able to go to the store. A week later they announce new speakers. Kinda got lucky there.

I wouldn't bet on that. We think the prices are high
Now?? We will be seeing incremental upgrades IMHO.
They will probably only upgrade the Studio Series since
It is the most overdue.

I also doubt if they will discontinue the Signature line.
It is their "flagship" line. Also, doubt if the Be tweeter
Makes it into the Studio series...IMHO it will "cannabalize"
Sales from the Sig line up.

I'm thinking something along the lines of a
"Lifestyle System" with the small form factor
That is so popular with the masses. And, I think they
Will make them available on the internet.

The one thing I always liked when they upgrade an
Existing series is the DEEP discounts after the new
Ones come out. And they "allow" dealers to sell over
The internet. Important to me after my 2 brick & mortar
Stores went out of business.

I scored SMOKING deals on my 5 Signature speakers (v2)
When the v3's came out.

Will be interesting to see.

Nope! They already released a new updated lifestyle system this year? The new millennia series, Cinema series and the new shift soundscapes!

My guess is, they will release new Studios and new Signatures, with the Studios taking queues from the 30th anniversary tributes and increasing the price by $200 for each speaker, so the base price for a pair would be $4000.00 even!

Ugh, that throws a serious wrench in my idea.

Last summer I upgraded my Monitor Series bedroom
Speakers to the discontinued and on close out SE series.
They use Studio drivers in a fancied up Monitor cabinet.
They sound GREAT. Cost was less than the new Monitor series!

If you can find them in South Africa that's what I was going
To suggest.

Well, I picked up a 65XBR950B yesterday from the AVS classifieds. It has less than 20 hours on it, saw no debris behind the screen as many others have reported, and no blooming or other anomalies during about 15 minutes of viewing.

Got a call from the local A/V store integrator, and they are coming out a week from Friday to do the install and the C4 programming.

Trying to think a of great movie to christen the display.

FYI, visited my local shop today that sells Paradigm and was told that "the announcement" is for a replacement (I guess newer version) of the Studio line. Other than that, couldn't give me any more details.

Boston Acoustics Classic series L/C/R + front presence; Fluance XLBP Bipole surrounds; PSA XS15se
Yamaha RX-A3040; Emotiva XPA-3

Anybody know when they are supposed to be released because I would like to get some Studio 20's at a discount to complete my Studio system?

My dealer thought it would be mid-to-late Q4, so late October or November, possibly. But that was a complete guess on his part; said they didn't have much for details and likely won't until after CEDIA.

That is a good idea. Once the new models come
Out you should see some very aggressive pricing
On the previous versions.

How quickly does Paradigm authorize "clearance sales" of previous versions after a new, replacement model is announced? The way companies and their dealer networks work nowadays, it's tantamount to price fixing, which used to be illegal.

It's been awhile, but, if my memory serves me correctly
It's a few weeks after new models are released.
Your mileage may vary depending on the dealer you
Work with.

I was able to get my V2 Sigs at 40% off of MSRP.
