Without knowing the extent of the "upgrade" of the Studio line, I would say it's premature. CEDIA will give us more to work with. In order to timbre match what I have already, I'll need to swoop in during the v5 close out sale before it's too late.

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!

If it's considered a substantial upgrade I'll be selling all of my Studio speakers on eBay. I love the Studio speakers so much I would buy the exact same model again.

I'm thinking of upgrading from the Atoms that I have in my basement HT room that I'm currently using as fronts. Maybe now is a good time to look if Paradigm has a new line coming out soon? I don't need the latest and greatest... Just want something bookshelf sized that will be better for music.

Check out the Studio 20 v5's when the v6's are announced at CEDIA. That's what I'm doing.

If the new ones have beryllium tweeter, it would be worth it, otherwise, I think it would me more evolutionary than revolutionary.

It will really depend on how big the upgrade will be in orderf or me to decide to go with V5 or V6. If the upgrade is minor and cosmetic, I'm going to try to get the dealers to give me a heavy discount on the V5's.

Well all of the speakers are at the dealer, just waiting on the Oppo and the A2 to arrive, then I will be making a speed run to Boston, hopefully Thursday after work.

Enjoy. I'm excited for you! I got the signature counterparts to your studios plus adp3s. Oh and I have a sub 2 but I got that a few years ago. It was my first sub so I figured I would go for broke. Room isn't that big so I got something that pounds with a smaller footprint.

I had a chance to listen to the Seismi 110 subwoofer yesterday and I am amaze at how low it get for its size. I also got a chance to listen to the Sub 1 as well, but $5000 isn't chump change lol.

Hello all Paradigm owners. I am currently setup with a 5.1 Klipsch system (RF-62ii) and I am thinking about jumping to Paradigms in the the not too distant future (I'm sure my wife will love me for this). I am quite pleased with my current setup, but I have always wanted to try Paradigm.

I want to know what you folks can recommend which would be a comparable setup to the RF-62ii line in terms of Paradigm speakers. I was thinking about Monitor 9's (maybe 11's, depending on price difference... would there even be a significant difference between the two) but I am unsure if that is a step below or what.

I would like to hear some opinions, and especially if you have had experience with both speakers (Klipsch/Paradigm).

Thank you all in advance.

Cheers!

I have a lead on a pair of Monitor 11 v7s in supposedly "mint/like new" condition from a local seller. Anyone know what these are going for brand new from dealers right now? They'd be a huge upgrade over the Atoms I'm using right now in my basement, and I'd be willing to go away from bookshelf speakers if I can get them for a good price.

Yes, but you have to understand that if you walked in to a dealer most likely they will quote you that price first and then you negotiate. And some places won't discount at all. From what I hear, 20% off is about normal but again it all depends on the dealer. I got 30% for some and 20% for others. And my sub 2 was closer to cost which I "think" was close to 40% off a few years ago. I actually don't remember exactly what I paid for the sub 2. Just remember ballpark.

Curious, do you know if this dealer has a website? I take it what you're talking about is basically an open box/return they're looking to get rid of and hence the deal which they are giving on that particular set?

This isn't a dealer... Private seller. Speakers look like they're in good shape from his pics.

I have both & prefer Klipsch because I am older & have hearing loss. The Klipsch are a lot better for me to understand the Dialogue with. I use my systems for Movies & TV.

So I'm quoting myself here (from 1/2014) hoping that what they are releasing are the speakers I saw at paradigm hq back in 2013.

Have you all noticed on Paradigms site it has some speakers priced as a pair. http://www.paradigm.com/products-cur.../page=overview

Also some of the items end in $98 instead of $99, is this a sign of discounted pricing?

I'm wouldn't be sure Paradigm is taking pricing cues from major retailers. Either way your final price will depend on your dealer.

The prices which end in 98 are the ones that are sold as pairs. If you divide by 2, you will realize the price ends with a 9.

Hello! With there being a good chance of new studio speakers, I'm thinking that soon will be a perfect time to buy a studio v5 center speaker at a lowered price. I'm trying to decide between the CC 490 and the CC590 to go along with my studio 60 v5 speakers. Could anyone here give me recommendations between the two center speakers (and no I'm not interested in the 690 since it's too big).

My local dealer only has the CC 690 speakers on display, so I've been limited to only reading specifications on the two center speakers. I'm thinking that the CC 490 will work fine, but unsure if my studio 60's will overpower it.

I was thinking about moving to a setup with the Studio 60's. I was originally going with Klipsch because I like my bookshelf setup that I have on my computer (5.1)
Someone mentioned being older and liking the Klipsch more. I'm wondering the comparison between the two if anyone has owned both. I am very interested in the center channel speaker being natural and full. My Def Tech sounds much better than most center channels that I have heard (mostly friends and in some stores).

My overall plan was Studio 60's CC-590, ADP-590 the sub I was going with a different company on that.

thanks

actually I found an interesting thread about the two right here

Klipsch or Paradigm

I agree with Dan. Go with the bigger center. The center puts out a lot more than just dialog. I have a monitor V6 setup and I went through all three centers (CC-190, CC-290, and finally a CC-390). I should have listened to my dealer and purchased the 390 day one. By the way, I had to get the 390 off of US Audiomart because V7 came out shortly after I purchased V6. You'll be in a similar situation when the new studios hit the market.
