Soundscape bar and need additional speaker suggestions

I am purchasing the Soundscape bar plus the Denon AVRX 4000 and would like some additional bookshelf or standing floor speakers. It has been suggested to use 2 Paradigm Monitor 1 center speakers for my left and right channels. Does anyone have any other suggestions? This is for my HD 65" TV for movies and some occasional music. The Living room runs in to the dinning and kitchen for one big area. Living room is 16x17, dinning is 10x17 and kitchen is 11x15. Later I may add a subwoofer and surround speakers too.

So I'm really enjoying my Monitor 11 speakers, and listening to them in stereo mode for music. Do you all think it would be worth adding a stereo power amp to run these, or is my Onkyo TX-NR709 more than sufficient?

If they play as loud as you want, without any audible distortion, when being driven by your Onkyo, then you won't gain anything from a separate amp.

However, if they begin to sound strained or distorted before you get the volume as loud as you'd like, then it might be worthwhile to try an outboard amp.

I used to have the Monitor 11's (v5) running off a
Marantz sr5003 with similar power specs to your
Onkyo. I added a pair of mono-block amps to the
Set up an there was no improvement, nada, zilch,
Zero, none etc! The 11's are just too efficient.

If you want to spend money on your system...
How is your sub??? Upgrading my sub always
Put the biggest grin on my face!!! YMMV.

Hi all, I'm back. My Studio 100s in Rosenut had some flaws on the finish so I called my dealer and Paradigm called me. After some time and sent pictures I called Canada. At this very time they were trying to put out a new product so they've been really busy and I slipped their mind until my call.

They said they would hand pick me a replacement set. Boy did they ever.
Right off the line I guess because the lacquer is still fresh in the air and they seem to have matched all of the speakers!!!! Wow!

When they came with the new speakers I was digging some tunes, 10 minutes later I was digging my new speakers and the sound was that much more incredible.
Just crazy great. And they will get better!!, Wow!

They don't have the usual serial numbers they are completely different in being alpha numeric and not just a row of numbers. By the way, they are consecutive.
Paradigm really rose to the task and delivered on there promise. Love those guys and their products!

Any one else have an experience like this? Please let me know.

Their QC is slipping. You're not the only one this has happened to. Their new Prestige line is a step in the wrong direction sonically on the critical high and mid frequencies, etc.

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!

Did I forget that the finish on this set is drop dead gorgeous! Just impeccable!
They got it right this time and the matched speakers, couldn't ask for more.
Sometimes things just slip through.

Love my Studios!! XOXOXOXOXO

Thanks for your response. I probably will look at a sub upgrade eventually. I am using an older Velodyne CHT10 sub right now with this system. It sounds ok, but I'm sure an upgrade would help a lot.

You know, I generally don't think the Studio V5 series looks good sans grille even though I own some. But I will say the Rosenut 100s look absolutely incredible! Looks like I know what finish I'm going with when I expand my system next year.

Has anyone here heard the B&W Rock Solid speakers? I thought they were amazing for their size/looks and when they were first released...

Anyone know what would be an upgrade or newer version of these?

I heard them at the dealers, but thought they sounded harsh
At higher volumes.

These sounded much better.

The polk atrium sat30/sub10 combo sounds great on my deck. Can mount the sats, hang them like pendulums or stake them in the ground.
