Did you try to go to Century Stereo in SJ? If you go in there with cash, they might be willing to deal a little bit. They are for people with deep pockets, but even when I go in there they have always been kind to me and show me everything. I think they enjoy people who actually have a real interest in home theater and have some knowledge. If you have time, ask if you can listen to their JBL Everest setup.... sadly any setup you hear after will never sound the same...

Other wise I have found one before on Craigslist when I was considering switching from my klipsch setup to the studio 100's. Just gotta keep digging.

Music Lovers in Berkeley and SF also carry Paradigm if you're willing to make the trip. Music Lovers is more willing to set up the demo session for you with the equipment you'd request than Century. Just call ahead.

I'm excited, finally ordered a center 3 to go along with my monitor 7s/atom monitors/PB12-NSD which I should get in time before Christmas holidays. I'm going to move my old CC190 to my bedroom which may be the start of my next 5.1 system.

I watch movies a fair bit so it'll be nice to see the difference compared to my old CC190.

Considering a new amp. My front and center speakers are Studio 100 v.5 and CC-690 v.5. Found a good deal on Sunfire Tga7401 and TGA7201. How well does this combination work?

I went from a CC290 to the Center3 & the difference was quite noticeable for the better. I am also using Monitor 7`s.
I am sure you will enjoy the new Center3 especially for dialogue in movies. The Center 3 sounds clearer to me.

That should be awesome, but how many channels do you need? You might just as well be served by an Anthem MCA 50 or an Outlaw Model 7500 for considerably less.

Gave serious thought to both brands. Although I am running a 5.1 system I can use the extra channels for other zones. I also like the low weight and how cool it runs. Found the TGA7401 refurbished on Accessories4less.com for $2500 with full 5 year warranty from Sunfire so I decided to go for it.

I find that authorized dealers will often take 10% (sometimes 15%) off so that speaker would sell in the$1500 to $1600 ranige. There are unauthorized retailers on the web that will do better, but I can guarantee you will not have a warranty. You can always be on the lookout for a used one. I purchased mine on Audiogon for a little over$1000.

HELP WITH J-29 STANDS FOR STUDIO 20's! Hi guys, I'm finally in a house and my daughter is old enough where I can set up all my speakers (studio 100's, cc-690, Studio 20's, all version 5). Can you guys with J-29 stands please tell me what you use to fill them with? I don't want to use lead shot due to it being a little dangerous for my little one and pretty expensive. Would play sand rust the stands? Please help with this and let me know what you use for these stands and where I can buy. I want to hook them up this week. Thanks so much guys.

I never filled my J29's . But i also don't have kids or pets. I woud think any kind of clean sand should to the trick.

+1 I've heard of people even baking the sand to remove the moisture
