Just an update on my earlier post about the Studio 60 V1. Everything works fine so I went ahead and picked the pair up + 1 Totem Mite T Center. $325 total~.

AVfile, Luis5150 and bthrb4u like this.

Does anyone think the smaller 5.5" drivers in the Prestige centres and the surrounds would be problematic for loud volumes without distortion?

I ask this because I will be getting the 85F fronts if I end up going with the prestige which have larger 6.5" drivers, but for the centres and surrounds there is no option that includes the larger drivers?

Is having 17.8cm ( studio series ) drivers e-peen overkill? Or does it serve a function.

All the Paradigm propaganda about Prestige is blah blah "fit and finsh" blah blah "midnight cherry". I want to know about what went into the design besides cosmetic B.S and the ridiculous 'phase plug' tweeter cover.

I think "less" than the Studio Series.........far less substantial cabinets and it seems drivers too!

Not sure about the finish......lots of issues with poor finish on the Studio speakers and other lines by what I have experienced.

Yeah the manufacturing problems were a bit scary, but as the Prestige is made in canada, whereas the manufacturing problems were with their china made gear, I am not so worried.

The back of my newest Studio's say Made in Canada, but they have poor finishing quality. I don't know what went wrong unless flawed B stock got wrapped up by mistake. My dealer is working with Paradigm to rectify the issue.

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!

I was told I will get my complete order of Prestige 2x95f , 2x85f, and 55c in Midnight Cherry at the end
of March. I will go over them thoroughly to make sure they are flawless, and I will post about this and their
sound.

That's really strange, lots of people on here have posted that the latest studio series were made in china. Maybe they switches back after insane failure rates, still doesn't explain what happened to your speakers though. Hope you get a straight up replacement soon.

I eagerly await hearing how they sound. Especially the 85F and 55C as I will possibly be getting both, the 95F is way too expensive for consideration for me.

I have not heard them at all. I'm going on the input of my friend who has heard them in Denver.
It will be quite good enough for me and my wife as we will use the system mostly for movies.

I'd be hesitant to buy these unheard. The reviews from those that have heard them have not been stellar. I hope they work for you though!

Man! I know the feeling

Mine finally came to my audio dealership today after an 8-week wait.

Can't wait to go home after work, unpack it, inspect it, test it, run an Audyssey calibration and enjoy.

Eight weeks???? It's only been two for me. I was told it would be this week. How long were you told it would take to come in?

The day I ordered the speaker, there were none in stock, the dealership didn't know when the speaker would arrive since they had to order it directly from Paradigm. They assume it would be a couple of weeks. Two weeks passed, and they call me telling me a Paradigm rep contacted them saying Paradigm were going to fulfill the rest of the Studio Series orders through the month of February/March and that I could expect to receive my speaker by mid/end of February.

Just to give you an idea what I'm talking about... I ordered the speaker on 1/07/2015 and got it today.

Anyone have a clue about what some used 90P v3's would go for now-a-days?? I've been keeping an eye open to get some used Paradigm towers locally and I came across a pair today. I have a CC350 center that they would be paired with.. the listing has a CC370 with it ( i figured I don't need the center) and they were asking $400 for the 3 pc. set - what would be a fair offer for just the 90P's??

As far as I know, the only part of Studios made in China was/is the cabinet, which was shipped to Canada where final assembly took place with the rest of the components being manufactured in Paradigm's factory.

Not good for me. I guess I should go ahead and buy the surrounds.

It depends on how many speakers Paradigm built to fulfill the rest of their "Studio" back orders. Perhaps, you got lucky and won't need to wait as long as I did. Keep in mind too I ordered mine right when all Studio inventory at Paradigm had been sold out.

This is one of many assurances I have that my choice of going with the Paradigm Prestige Series will be fine ...
My question was "how do the new Prestige Series stack up against the outgoing Studio Line"
"Hi Joe,I think they both very good. I personally use Studio 20 and studio 60 in my house for over 5 years. At first when I received in store new prestige line and I compare them to studio , prestige had more detail and space but studio sounded warmer. Now After my prestige are fully broke in I think that prestige line sounds better in all aspects .
I’m (I was) attached to studio line ( I sold hundreds of pair over last few years) and I’m not plan to change my home studios either, but for anyone looking to buy now (if higher cost is not issue) prestige line is the one to go."
