Cool thanks for the reply. Yeah the way they mount would make it very clean looking. After reading the spec sheets the drivers sound very similar to the what they use on the Monitor v6's, just a different crossover, and of course it's sealed.

Signature S1 height on stands

I have a pair of Signature S1's but no stands (sitting on a desk). I'm thinking about the GS-30 stands and moving to a different room, but there will be some height issues. Could anyone with this combination please tell me how tall is the top of the speaker?

I'm coming up with 41.5 inches...floor to the top of the speakers.

So any thoughts on the Paradigm S8v1 and how it would pair with a Paradigm C3 v3 compared to the Paradigm CC-690 v4?

Thanks!

Auto sub on

I have a pair of PDR-100's. I have them both set to auto on, but my left sub always comes on late and sometimes not at all unless I increase the volume on my receiver. Both subs volume levels and frequency settings are identical. Can anyone tell me how to get them to come on at approximately the same time?

Are you using a Y splitter? Could be a dirty or loose connection on the 2nd sub. Try cleaning the contacts or perhaps replace the splitter/cable. You could also swap the two subs and see if the problem follows the sub or not.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not using a splitter, but I will try checking my connections as well as swapping subs to see if the problem stays with the sub. Thanks for the tips.

Hi,

I would really appreciate some help. I currently have a Paradigm Studio Series.
Floorstanding Studio 100 v3
Center CC-570
Surrounds ADP-470
Driven by an Arcam AVR 350

To make a long story short, we moved a few years back into an older home and the main listening room is a long narrow room. I had limited wall space and placed the surrounds against the back wall. We are now renovating that wall and I am losing even that compromised space and need to consider going in-wall for surrounds. I am planning on keeping the same front and center but would welcome any ideas/recommendations on Paradigm in wall surrounds that would pair well with the other speakers.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Look forward to hearing your report when you get them all going.

Got the 75f and the 55c in place today. There is a massive difference in the upper midrange and treble from the Studio v3 line to the Prestige. Much more laid back sounding to my ears.

The 55c has usable output down to 45hz in my room.

Voice matching across the front 3 perfect.

So far, so good.

Hi fellow Paradigm owners,

Just upgraded from Bose 10.2 in almost 25 years to 85f and the 55c couple month ago. I am really enjoying the sound of Prestige Series.
Running with DENON 4200W. Thinking about adding more power to the speaker. I am still doing my homework.

I am looking for rear surround and just found used Studio 10 v5 from forum member. Will it be good idea get this as rear surround speaker?

Thank you

Ken

That Anthem A5 is the backbone to the whole system! every time I listen to mine (Anthem A5), I'm incredibly impressed with the sound quality. It just seems like it has authority and spacial presence to the sound. I'm trying to decide if I should replace my Integra DTR 50.3 with an Anthem processor such as the D2, D2V, or AVM60.

Wondering if anyone here is using Atmos modules with Paradigm speakers? I have older Monitor 9 v2s and a CC-370 v2, and would like to add some elevation speakers. I don't know what current offerings have a similar sound signature if at all to my speakers. Anyone have any experience?

I was thinking the PSB Imagine XAs might be a decent match, they use titanium dome tweeters and poly cone woofers like many Paradigm models. I also think they traditionally have shared similar sound traits. They are a bit expensive however at $699/pr.

So I'll try to explain and be quick about it so here goes.

20+ years ago I got a pair of sennheiser 560 Ovation II's. And my mind was blown. It was like hearing cd's for the first time, the clarity and richness of the sound was light years beyond anything I had heard speaker or headphone wise ever. So hearing that quality of sound I thought damn maybe there is something to all this high end stuff. So that led me to Paradigm, even though I got there on accident, which I won't go into I said I'd keep it short. So anyway started in monitor series in mid 90's worked up to studio 100's v3's and been there since. Ok so over the years I thought they sounded great and just loved em right but they just weren't really as detailed and so close to perfection as the Senn 560's. Now I always knew I probably should've had an amp all these years instead of high end or top mid level receivers, but ya know real amps cost real money. Long story short I bought a Marantz 7702 MK II and Outlaw 7140 140 per channel rms .05 thd. So now within minutes I could hear it....that detail that had been missing all this time. It's like good god I've done it after all this time I've matched that Senn ultra quality with home speakers. It's crazy the detail that'd been missing from the speakers I've owned for 12 yrs now. They just now finally came to life. So my question is what do you think did it. Everything in system is same cept adding the 7702 MKII and outlaw. You think one is more responsible than the other for the improved sound, a combination of the two. Either way I'm stunned that leaving behind receiver has taken my 12 yr old system to entirely new level. I swear , nearly instantly I could hear the difference. And on stuff I've listened to hundreds of times, the difference is night and day. Just wow. Anyone have any thoughts on which made the bigger difference.

Well I've used several over the years, Pioneer, Sony, tried a Yamaha once took it back fairly quickly, but the last one I had was an Onkyo 809. Before that I used the hmm dang I forget the model this second but one of the old legendary units from like 10 years ago that weighed nearly 60 pounds. Before they started getting lighter and less powerful amps. As you may have noticed I felt it's gotten to a point where most makers are just lying on the spec sheets at this point. It's one big reason I left and finally went separates. Quality has gone down hill big time last several years on receivers if you ask me. To expand into atmos I plan on using the old onkyo that is heavy for powering the rest of my Atmos channels.

Oh and the listening I do I'm talking about using Direct sound mode so unit isn't really doing anything to the sound so much. And still there difference is amazing. I'm sure tons of people wouldn't notice I'd probably say but I listen since those senns closely to stuff as well as just enjoying it casually but man. Although I've spent a ton lately it's nice when it feels like it was worth it and paid off.

They always said to run Studio 100's with an amp, cause it can cause a 3 ohm load on heavy stuff. But I'm not even talking about listening at any heavy volume. Just normal level casual and I can hear clarity like never before.

This article at AudioHolics states that differences in amplifier design can make difference in the sound coming out of your speakers.

Aside from that, as I understand it, dedicated amps have more power than receivers and having more power lends itself to cleaner rendering in general, and especially cleaner rendering of transients. A dedicated amp has been the audiophile's way to approach a sound system, so I would have to say that the amp is probably the driving force behind the difference you hear.

Personally, I do not have a dedicated amp, I have a Yamaha RX-V1050; however, I did jump from Pardigm 11se MKIIIs to Paradigm Prestige 95Fs in March of this year. I noted a jump in sound quality similar to what you describe. With no other variables in play, the 95Fs are a significant step forward, IMHO. I auditioned a few of Paradigm's models through the years; however, I am very glad that I waited to upgrade. Speaker technology has come a long way since I bought the 11se MKIIIs.

There are various ways to get better sound. Amplifier and speakers, in and of themselves, may be the two changes that are capable of the largest increases in sound quality.

Yea I agree with what you said about going up the paradigm line. Your MKIII's predate when I entered the monitor series before I moved up to Studio line. I also noticed a nice bump in clarity. The difference I now hear reminds me of that bump up when I went to studio. I think it's actually more drastic of an improvement even. I also fell the Studio v3 line is where as you said next generation of sound started in the entire Paradigm series. Anyway now hearing where my system is at quality wise, what a great great purchase my Studio series was all those years ago. And man how well they still serve me now. Just amazing.
