Just got my 10.1's for my workout room. They sound great. What wall mounts would work with these? I know the ports need room to breathe but at the angle I am going to put them they should be fine.

I ended up building a shelf and putting the speakers and receiver on that. I am enjoying these speakers quite a bit.

I have a pair of Opus 2m1's which are currently on stands, but I am buying a new entertainment unit and wondering what the best way to position the speakers is.

I imagine it would not work to have these speakers actually sitting on a shelf?

If there were other objects on the shelf would it cause vibration etc?  Is there any other way besides stands?

Thanks in advance.

Unless you decide to wall mount them, I would say that stands are your only other option.

My Evo 40s are floor standing. My Evo 10s are on stands.

Nouffie likes this.

Mits 73835, Denon X4000, Emotiva UPA5 (triggered), Wharfedale Pacific Evo 40s, CS, 10s, the internet, a NAS drive, a TiVo Series 3 and an Oppo 103 (bye bye PS3). There's also a Wii, but we don't talk about that...

Thanks Seggers.  They are a too big for wall mount IMO - had considered it.  I had always intended to keep them on stands, but then the setting changed.

I just found this thread have been a member for some years. I have Sapphire 89s as my mains, 87s as my sides, 83s as my rears and two sapphire centers. I still have the 12" wharfedale subs which I dont use anymore, I needed more low end then they offered. I love these speakers but they are starting to get a bit old and finding replacement drivers isnt easy, do you guyx have any input. Current setup is 89s mated to a TFM 15, 87s mated to a TFM 6, both centers are mated to a TFM 6 and the 83s are mated to a TFM 6, all being fed by a Pioneer 1017 receiver.

Hey guys!

I need some advice...

My gear at the moment is:

Pioneer LX57
Pioneer BDP450
Wharfedale Evo (first gen) 30's + Centre + 8's
JBL E150 sub
(Power Amp coming soon, but nor really required at the moment)

Room is a dedicated cave/media room about 5x3m and there is some acoustic treatment (bass traps)

Use: 60% HT / 40% Music ( I love my music)

Now the question.

There is a pair of Wharfedale Opus 2 for sale in a local auction website and it may go for a very competitive price. I love the brand (awesome value for money, especially second hand). I love my music, mainly played in PureDirect stereo mode (no subwoofer on)

Do you think the Opus would be a big improvement over the Evo?
How do you think it would match the tonality if the other speakers when in HT duties? Can you actually tell the difference?

The Opus are a beautiful piano black and I'm drooling over them since I saw the listing... But I'd like to make an informed decision.

Do they really need that much space to breath? Would the bass be too much/overpowering?

Looking forward to your input!

Thank you!!!!!

So Wharfedale just released their Diamond 200 series and I was curious if anyone on here has had the privilege of listening to them. I have an upstairs den that needs a couple of solid speakers that work very well against a wall (in this case bookshelf) and they appear to be getting rave reviews.

Any thoughts from the Wharf enthusiasts?

Well I got confirmation that they won't be available stateside until they move out most of their Diamond 10 series speakers and you can expect deep discounts over the holidays at outlets like Best Buy. I'm guessing mid January (for the 200 series) and I can't wait to hear them as I need to replace my old Mission 751's and they will be closest from my experience with both companies.

Have FUN!

Question Help me ID these Wharfdales?!

I picked up these speakers at a local record shop for a steal, ( and a 10 day return policy jic,) but I have NO IDEA WHAT MODEL these are.
They have been refinished with the textured black surface, and there may have been other modifications done, (maybe a replacement of the posts in back?) But the drivers look and sound like Wharfdale.
Actually, these speakers sound amazing and I can't believe what I got.
But what are they?
Can anyone tell me the model of these speakers?
Oh, they measure approx. 10.5" x 17.5" x 7.5"

I was a previous owner of the Jade 5's. Traded them in to move up to Aerial Acoustics (a local (for me) Boston area speaker). Jade 5's are fairly close to full range; if I recall the -10dB point is around 35 Hz.
I thought they were very good speakers, and had a pretty cool design (sort of art-deco).
So, you might not need a sub to start; but if you are listening primarily to movies, then a sub is more important.

The Jade 7's will go down below 30Hz so a sub is even less mandatory.

Not sure what your shorthand means above for the Jade packages.

J7 is jade 7 larger tower with dual 8inch woofers
j5 is jade 5 smaller tower
j2c is the larger Jade center.

Anyways I pulled the trigger on the jades. I got j7 fronts j5 rears and j2c center. No subwoofer as I spent all my pocket money.

Hello,
new member here. Bought a pair of Diamond 230 recently. Have heard both the diamond 121 and 220. All i can say is the new 220 sounds a bit more spacious.

need another 4 posts in order to attach some pictures of the diamond 230.

By the way the label behind the first batches of diamond 220 speakers stated sensitivity of 87dB is a printing error. Correct figure should be 86dB.
