I'm still lurking around, just not as much as in the colder months, plus the theatre's basically done until the new 2017 products come out for video, there's very little I'm interested in for speaker upgrades.
I guess you have to slow down some time...

Lol I read on here a lot just never posted. And yeah have to slow down sometime after a speaker/ AV component upgrade every thing slows down...even less groceries haha. So I have 4 bp8060 towers 2 fronts two surrounds a 8060 center and 2 8040's wall mounted for the surround backs. 1 bic pl-200 sub and another klipsch ksw-200 or something but I put a different driver in it (old one dry rotted) ghetto I know that's my next upgrade dual svs. Everything's ran on a Denon avr-x4200. Anyways all this crap I read on here about large or small and crossing shiat over is eating a way at me. I've done several listening tests I don't even think I can tell a difference. Some say on large they can sound bloated or boomy I've had them on large cranked up a bass part of a movie with my ear right next to the woofer. I think it sounds fine idk maybe I'm going deaf already :joy::joy: help please.

I'll give you what I consider to be the best advise I ever got for these situations....
Don't let it eat you up....
It's your system, in your home....
Do what works and sounds best for "YOU"
Everyone hears different, Everyone's rooms react different, and Everyone likes different qualities in sound.
Unless your building a system to simply show off and please other people (which you'll NEVER please everyone) do what makes you happy.

My system is COMPETE OVERKILL, and I still want to switch a few more things, but it's what I want and i'm happy with it.

I've BP7000SC's but I like running mine large because I feel the bass sounds more even in the room when walking around. An Eqed sub sounds great when in the sweet spot though... I haven't had much luck eqing the subs in the towers.

Maybe il stick to the way I have it I was messing around with it today the towers in my room at least the front 8060's drop off like a rock at 30hz according to the frequency sweep I did in stereo mode set to large. So as of now I have front and side and center crossed at 40hz and my surround rears audyssey set at 120hz so I kept them there. Might bump my center up to 60hz though. I probably change the settings 20 times a day lol

Does anyone have any idea when the BP-9080's will be available to buy? Def Tech website indicates late summer but can't find anything definite. I am looking to upgrade by BP-7002's for new towers that I can incorporate Dolby Atmos. Want to hear the 9080's before I make a decision on those or the 9060's.

I like to cross my wall mounted BPVX's over at 80, otherwise they sound smeared/congested due to the wall boundaries.

I wish I had bpvx for surrounds I heard they're awesome speakers with 4 -6.5inch drivers unfortunately I only have two 3.5inch drivers. Best Buy didn't have any 8080 surrounds so I opted for the 8040s for a deal at 100$ a piece so I couldn't pass it up. Best Buy loves me they gave me 4 -bp8060 towers at cost for $474.99 and the 8060hd center for 280$ so I can't complain I guess.

Wow nice, I like the BP8060's a lot. I also like the BP7002's and BP10. Haven't heard much from the new series yet.

Not sure how the 8040's sound, but you probably have to cross them over at least at 80Hz if not higher. I would love one day to use the same speakers all the way around. Have any pics of your setup?

Nice setup, I'm not sure if those wall mounts add much? Looks like a 5.1 might be fine for that room.

Try toeing the speakers in and listen to some music. Might help the center image. I know toein helps a lot for my BP7000SC, especially since I have a narrow room.

Thank you! And ya know I've thought about it too about just going the 5.1 because I don't have real placement behind the couch. (Maybe use that channel for atmos) But I've thought about it more and more while watching movies like a door knock or a barking dog in the rear distance and it actually gives the perception of it kinda being farthest behind from the tv (offscreen) if that makes sense. Instead of like a door closing behind someone and hearing it to the side it sounds more behind I guess I'm trying to say. But I'm going to do some listening tests with those turned off and I'll report back.

And yes I do have 0 toe-In right now, when I first bought them and for a while after I had them I had them toed in forming a triangle at my shoulders at the MLP but my opinion they sounded kinda bright, a little harsh in my room. But you are right the center image is improved. But even so with them facing straight in 2 channel stereo the imaging is still great and sounds like I have a center speaker on.

I decided to get back into home theater earlier this year but didn't get everything installed until a couple of weeks ago. With them being on sale this past year, I decided to go for the BP8080 system in a 5.1.4 setup or is it 5.2.4 with the towers having powered subwoofers? Anyway, I have a 14'-x14' room with 8' ceilings and one angled wall where the door comes in. I have 4 of the Definitive Technology DI 8R in ceiling speakers for Atmos.

I did some reading on this forum and am going to try experimenting with separate subs from RSL. I'm going to audition a pair of their Speedwoofer 10S subs placed right behind the BP8080 towers and see if I don't get tighter base. The company offers free shipping and return in addition to a 30 day in home trial. They received a very good rating from Audioholics whom I place a great deal of trust in so I figured, why not? I hope to see them later this week and will report back on my findings.

Lastly, I bought my Vizio M80- D3 display from Costco a little over a month ago am was contemplating returning it in lieu of a Vizio P-75 but after reading about many of the troubles several of the owners are having with them, I just may stay where I'm at.

Vizio M80-D3 Home Theater Display; Denon AVR-X6200W 9.2 Channel Receiver; Definitive Technology BP-8080ST Super Towers; Definitive Technology CS-8080HD Center Channel; Definitive Technology SR-8080BP Bipolar Surrounds; (2) RSL Speedwoofer 10S Powered Subwoofers (4) Definitive Technology DI 8R In Ceiling Atmos Speakers; Samsung UBD-K8500 UHD Blu-Ray Player; Harmony Ultimate One Touch Screen IR Remote; AudioQuest Cinnamon High Speed HDMI cables; Panamax M5400-PM Line Regulator and Surge Protector
