So I picked up a great pair of bp7000sc this morning. Been comparing these most of the day to my bp3000s. Flip a coin they both sound great. Will mess around with them more tomorrow.

The bp3000s are a decent amount bigger. That might be why the mids sound so good. The bass is close. More boom with the 7000s but more tactile with the 3000s. Very close. What dt probably wanted to do was to produce the sound and bass of the 3000s with a smaller speaker. I think they accomplished that. Most people would not want a pair of speakers the size of the bp3000s in their living room. Crazy big.

Your going to drive north for 12 hours and purchase both for 5k. Then I'm going to wireless Bose. In all seriousness the guy I got the bp3000s from sold them because his wife purchased him wireless Bose system. I still feel bad for the guy. He also was brainwashed in thinking the Bose was comparable to the dt's.

This is the same feeling I had in comparison. I wasn't really shopping for the 65's as I thought that it would be Overkill for surrounds. Bajawaverunner had an excellent price on the 45's as well. How's the 80's?

The 8080’s are still sitting in the spare bedroom as I’m awaiting some replacement “slides” for the feet.

This is why I listed my top 10 as being for HT, for music and all around use, I do like the 2000 & 3000tl a little better.
But all of the older flagship Supertowers are so close in their sound quality, it's almost not fair to say one is "better" than the other, esp as subjective as "better" can be.

I'm glad you like them, however you choose to use them (3000's Front / 7000's Surrounds or vice-versa) it's going to be an incredible setup, the sound in that room will rival most "Premier" cinema experiences. (And just walk all over your avg down-the-street movie theater)
Can't help but remember what is was like when I first decided to try Supertowers as surrounds, and how much of a smile it put on my face. Not to mention how surprised I was with the difference.

Remember, tweaking their position is key to their imaging.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately, this pains me to say- I can't keep both. I have upgraded so much this year that my ht funds have run out. So sooner or later I will have to make a decision. I'll still have my Bp30s to fall back on for Surround duties. If anyone of you would like to start a Gofundme page on my behalf it should would be appreciated lol.

I would keep whichever set is in the nicest condition and sell the other pair along with the BP30’s.

Also wanted to add that bp3000tl both use similar size sealed cabinets in separate compartments for front and rear. The 7000 and 7001 are slightly bigger to take advantage of the upgraded mids and tweeter. Bp3000 has same mid and tweeter used in bp2000, bp2000tl, bp30, Bp10b, clr2000, clr1000, sm450, clr3000tl,power monitor 700 and bpvx/p. Bp3000 cabinet is bigger to help that big 18 inch driver but it has nothing to do with mids and tweeter. The amp In 7000 and 7001 is a big upgrade from 2000 and 3000 towers.

7000, 7001, clr3000 and bpvx are only models that got the newer updates.

When I compared bp3000tl in same room against bp7000 I noticed similar things. 18 in 3000 is booming more then 7000. Actually 7000 and 7001 have about 2-3db Advantage almost everywhere from 20-125hz. I believe the bp3000 seems louder because it?s just not as clean. Also the 7000 and 7001 mids are cleaner and more refined. The top end on 3000 is still very good but sounds a little like 2002tl.

If it was me Id keep them both. I did lol

Another question for everyone. I'm looking to purchase the PC600 system & a pair of SM45s later this week. I'm going to use the 45s as front left and rights. Can I connect the 45s to the 600 woofer or should I connect them straight to the receiver? I just got 2 boxes of the Audioquest Type 4 speaker cables & each cable is labeled for each speaker. I didn't realize that the cables were speaker specific which means I have to purchase another cable for the center speaker.

Audioholics has a quick talk about the Demand series in a longer video on new speakers coming out they saw at CEDIA. The good news is it's the first thing they talk about in the video.
