They had a sub in the corner, which I believe was REL, though I may be mistaken. The soundstage was very dynamic and very clear at a reasonably high volume - not reference, but still quite loud. The soundstage flowed from front to back very seamlessly and had a great amount punch and low bass, even when the sub was switched off. Dialogue was crisp and evenly maintained without any trace of compression during loud db peaks. The surrounds were also quite impressive. The sound was very sweet, perhaps more on the warm side, but no obvious coloration. The mids were very sweet and again lots of strong dynamics.

I did get to hear a little music in plain stereo, again with a sub. The 65's were playing 2.1 setup. They played mostly classic music with lots of horns, kick drums, etc. Every thing I heard was very detailed and the speakers did a good job separating the various instruments while not losing cohesiveness. I thought for the price of a pair of 65's or even five 65's the value was excellent. Again not off the charts, insane quality that you would give up a pair of high quality $10k plus speakers, but they held their own against some of the more reasonably higher priced speakers in their rooms that I have listened to many times before.

Put it this way, I could easily live with a set of 65's in my HT setup and feel that I was getting every bit the bang for my buck.

Lucky dog, I only got to try the 45 and 55. I actually found the highs and mids of the 45 to sound very close to the 8060's but less spacious due to being direct radiating. I'd personally take the sm45's and get some nice subs. Though if I head the sm65's I may like those even more. Anyway, I bet the sm45 would make for awesome height speakers if you have 8060's, etc.

So I get to the Magnolia designer store. They do not have and do not anticipate having the SM45,55,65 speakers for audition at all.

So I look around and audition some bookshelves by Monitor Audio, B&W, Sonus faber, et al.

And I find what I was looking for - exactly what I was looking for in a speaker. Except that a pair will cost me $1000 bucks.

I do not even find them anywhere on ebay or audiogon or local craigslist today.

I will keep looking....but who knows...I may very well end up buying new ones because apparently no one in their right mind is selling them used. Rightly so.

PS: After looking up the specs of the speaker I am in love with, I am so proud of myself. I have always loved the sound of paper cones growing up, and the ones I like I find out are made of "cellulose"...fancy name for paper. So even after 20 years, my sonic memory/love still lives.

Hello Chikoo, sorry about that... it is mostly our fault. We simply did not build enough in our first production run to satisfy the demand. We sold out almost instantly, and our Euro distributors haven't seen one yet! Gettting great reviews on speakers that you have yet to ship is a good problem, I suppose. We will have them in stock in a week and should have them back out to the stores and on display in 2 weeks. My apologies - it drives us nuts when we are out of stock... Best, Joe

Hi Josh, good question. The Pro Monitors have BDSS series 1 drivers in them, and sound great, so they are not in line for a re-do at present. Going from the SM 350/450, with no BDSS, to the BDSS II drivers in the new SM's is a huge leap.
BTW, we got a great review on the SuperCube 4000, and I am stoked about them. We posted pics of the new SC 8000 sub on our Facebook page. It has awesome deep bass performance from a compact box. I can't wait for it to ship - about a month now. Best, Joe http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...1202183&type=1

I have the CLR2002. And Def Tech recommends a/v receiver crossover setting @ 60 Hz.

Copyright violation...LOL Took Disney less than one hour to block it.

On the video itself saying "This video contains content from Disney, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

After a lot of trial and errors with my setup, i have finally reached a setup that pleases my ears. And it is very unexpected.

I have a hk avr 2600 powering clr 2002 fronts with bp8040 surrounds.

The setup that i love is to convert the audio input to the avr from dolby digital to 2 channel 48khz pcm and apply logic7 movie mode surround. Amazing.

Hello, Does any one know if a DT supercube 2 high level board will work on a supercube 3 main board? The only differences i spotted are the power output 1250W vs 650W, the connectors are the same by the pictures i found.
Any insight or a schematic for a SC 2 and/or a SC 3 amp would be great.

Thanks
