Base comes attached when new in box but can easily be removed with a Philips screwdriver. There are actually 4 screws to remove, not two.

Just turned my RC-70 over to check.

The best bet is to call Klipsch/Energy for a new base plate since it is so easy to replace. You don't want to deal with the shipping of another speaker, no telling what will be damaged next time.

Thanks guys for the responses. I'll go ahead and email Energy.

100% they are removable and also attached when shipped. When I first unpacked mine, I flipped them over and gave the baseplates a good tightening. As I did with the drivers as well. Found a bunch of loose screws in both the drivers and baseplates. If I were you, I would pop off the baseplate to inspect for any other damage. If isolated to the baseplate(fingers crossed) snap a pic of it and email it to Klipsch/Energy. I'm sure they will be happy it is only costing them a replacement plate rather than the whole tower!!!

Congrats! They look great.

That's about the lowest I've seen on Amazon.

Fry's has them for $250 often sometimes shipped if you act quick enough.

I could use a bit of advice.

My front speakers are the energy c500s and the center is the c-c100.

I was wondering if I would notice a difference going to a CC-10 center speaker and RC-70 fronts (or CF-70 fronts).

thank you

The RCs are much better than your Cs. With the sale prices at Frys no reason to bother with the CF, go RC/70 + RC-LCR.

Thanks folks. Now I just have to hope the lcr becomes available for shipping. I called them and they said they probably won't get more inventory this week sadly....

I use the RC-10's with my RC-50's and RC-LCR - this works well for me, but the LCR's are a better although bigger speaker.

Thats what my current 5.2 setup. Rc 70 lcr and lcr surrounds with stand. I'm about to sell all of them but every time I'm watching movies, it keeps me think not to sell it and rather to keep them. It always make me smile movies or music. If they are 199 on Fry's go get them.

If your wallet and stands can take them, then the RC-LCR is the obvious choice.
(2x cost 2x weight)

Damn, there not shipping the lcr. Didn't see that in the weekly ad. I've been waiting weeks for the rc 10s to go on sale shipped. Tired.

What about another pair of rc 70s for surrounds? What do u guys think^^?
Would I be able to skip stands. All 5 speakers would be ear level.

Yes, but try it and post a pic anyway

They are overkill for surrounds, but will serve their purpose just fine.

I think it might be a good idea. There on sale again. I know some movies play low freq in the surround channels(saving private Ryan etc). Just worried about ear level height.

I do. Obviously I use my room correction (MCACC) app to tame the room as much as possible, but it works well for me.
