1st music to be played on these new V2.2i's is Stevie Ray Vaughan Leave My Girl Alone, Live Version. YIKES!!!

If anyone has a V2.OCi for sale I would have an interest for a nice rounded out 6.2 stereo. I like the V2.OCi in the mix.

Ive got some stuff

Glad you are still enjoying those V2.2i's. Seems I sold a lot of old Veritas summer 2013 to my friends
on AVS.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's guitar just sounds great on the older Veritas. Listening now to his song Riviera Paradise.
Such a shame Stevie was taken so young. I think it was 1989 and he was on his way to play in Kansas City where
I lived at the time.

Ive got some stuff

By the way how loud is to loud to play while breaking in these speakers? My Yamaha RX-Z9 is a beast. Im keeping it at -12, hopefully that would be ok.

I would think that's ok although I personally tend to be more conservative.

If you like SRV you should check out Joe Bonamassa.

Listening to him lossless on Tidal right now. ;-)

Just use common sense. If the speakers sound good and aren't straining then you aren't hurting them.

Any of the immediate physical "break in" (loosening of the physical components like the spider on the woofer, the rubber surrounds etc) will happen within the first few hours. But you aren't going to damage a speaker by using it for what it's indended to do.

BTW - welcome back

This leads me to believe that the newer seamless look of the Veritas that we all know was actually an Energy
company idea. I haven't been able to track down any pictures of the seamless look in the V2.4i or the V2.3i but
there are a few pictures on the internet of the V2.2i in the seamless look with the piano black laquer finish.
I actually prefer this seamless look over the black laminant look of the older version, with that said I am thrilled
to have found an unopened pair of V2.2i's with a 60 day warranty to boot.
By chance, did they have more of them?

You're very lucky. Don't these models have the little famous plaque on the rear panel showing engraved signatures of John Tchilinguirian?

John was the main force behind most all the previous and current Energy brand loud-speaker models, including- original C-Series, Take Series, RC Series, Veritas, and others. He left the company (API) around the same time it was aquired (and sort of ruined) by Klipsch Inc..:

Sounds good, they do sound better with more use at least to my ears.

Are you using them in two channel, 2.1 or part of surround?

They are in a 5.1 system but for music I just use 2 channels from my Pioneer sc1222k and they sound really nice...

I have a Denon 4520 in a 5.1 system with RC-70 L/R, RC-LCR Center, and Polk FXiA6s for surrounds.

I have a B&K 7250 Series II amp that I haven't incorporated into the system yet.

So how do you set RC-70 for 2 Channels? By making Sound Mode as Stereo?

Do you think i can use RC-70 as Speaker B for 2 Channel Music only?

Since music is only two channel anyway, it's really easy just to use the RC-70's for that purpose.

Stereo mode includes bass management and sub, direct mode will not.

Yeah. Sometimes stereo and sometimes Neo:X for me and if you have fronts set to large, then no sub either

I have Pioneer Elite VSX-44 AVR. I have following setup:
- SUB as "PLUS" in the Speaker Settings which i also need for Movies. My
- RC-70 as Front Left and Right as "LARGE"

Is that fine?

Now for Music, you are suggesting to use Sound Mode as "Direct" or "Pure Direct"?

I re-ran Audyssey (XT) yesterday after having moved my L and R speakers, Veritas 5.1s, a bit. Three times I had to re-start the procedure because when the test tone hit my center, a Veritas 5.2C, the first beep started out muffled, as if something wasn't yet ready. The second half of the first beep as well as subsequent beeps sounded fine. It really was as if something needed a quarter of a second to warm up (although the beeps had already played fine on the L speaker).

Anyone with an idea what this could be caused by? I'm hoping it's the AVR and not the center as the AVR will be much easier to replace.

I double-checked all connections and they were fine. Never had this or any other setup issue before.

Adjusting settings according to personal preference is not calibration.

Epson 5030UB, 100" Carada Criterion with Classic Cinema White, Denon AVR 1713, Energy V-5.1s and a V-5.2C , NHT SuperZeros, Mirage Omni S10, Oppo 103D. Currently boxed up and for sale: Klipsch SW-450, NHT Absolute Center, Energy V-Mini-C

since you're re-running Audyssey anyway, try doing a processor reset first, then run Audyssey.
