So would the LCR horizontally would make a better center than the RC10 vertically?

Yeah, I think the RC LCR is just a better overall speaker. I'm seriously considering getting one for $255 from woot even though I have a RC Mini CC.

Just bought one since it may be the last opportunity, but I am fairly certain it won't fit in my current media center. So, that leaves me with three choices.

1. Hold on to it for a year until I move.

2. Sell if to one of y'all lucky people that missed the deal at the woot price.

3. Sell it on eBay for a likely small profit.

I would say yes..... the RC-LCR is much larger, has better bass response, and is a true "3-way" design. It has a smoother midrange (because of the dual midrange drivers) and voices sound more smooth and natural than with the RC-10.

In this case... I'd say YES.

The RC-LCR is a well designed center, and works well even when horizontally oriented.

Thanks for the quick replies. I made the purchase before I posted...but then I started thinking about the rc-10 vertically (and if I should take some recourse on that account). So it sounds like I probably made the decision I would have wanted to. Thanks.

Hey afro, what color is that Mini CC.... wouldn't happen to be rosenut would it?

I keep thinking about selling my Mini bookshelves and going 3 x Mini CC in my bedroom...

The Mini bookshelves just don't play low enough when placed on stands away from the wall.... and I don't like using a 150Hz xover... but Audyssey keeps telling me I need to.

Do it AfroGT. I bought the RC70's from Woot last week and have an RC-10 as the center (horizontal for space reasons) but at this price I can't resist. Hmmm...I'll have to wall mount my TV in the corner to fit the LCR under. Anyone know of a good wall mount to mount a 54" Panasonic S1 Plasma in the corner? I was looking at Monoprice mounts but hard to tell if they'll swivel and not dip so the tv is equilateral to the corner.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

You can be first on my list if it doesn't fit and I decide to sell. I would be willing to do say $300 (Came out to $280.00 with taxes for me) for the hassle .

This just confirms I have a serious speaker addiction. I need help!!! My RC-10s are cherry but the RC LCR in cherry is long gone. But since the center will be on a shelf it really doesn't matter much.

Anybody want to buy a 5.0 set of original Take 5 sats? Still have the mfrs box.

I've got the 50" S1 Plasma but this RC LCR will go with my bedroom setup. My TV is on a stand though.

You just got two RC-70s and a RC LCR for $1060 total. That's pretty incredible!! Normally that is the cost of one RC-70!

Those guys have no clue at all. Which is good for us because they wont sell out right away.

From my experiences Wooters are looking for stuff that is $50 or less. $400 for RC-70s or $250 for RC LCRs isn't something they can comprehend.

I knew woot would come thru after selling the RC-70s last week.

Now I really wish I had jumped on the RC-70's from last week. Could have moved my RC-50's to surrounds and had a 5.1 with, 2x RC-70, 2x RC-50, RC-LCR, for a mere $1500 .

I want to buy 1 RCLCR to go with my RC50s so then I would have 4 RC10s lying around.

Would an RCLCR overpower the 10s if I setup a 3.1/5.1 with them?

Dammit! I totally purchased without even thinking. lol! Missed a couple deals on the rc70's and wasn't gonna let this slip away from me! Im using a rc10 as my center now. Now i need to look for a single rc10 to complete my 5.1 setup! thx for the headsup guys.

Well, I said screw it and bit. I figured this would be a better upgrade than going from Pioneer BS-41s to RC-10s for the rears. There goes my subwoofer money...

Anyone want to buy a Mirage Omni C-150?

EDIT: if this doesn't sound significantly better than the C-150, it's going up for sale. But a non-brainer at this price, I think...

if you need/want to flush mount or need the bi-pole/di-pole functionality of the RC-R that is the better choice, otherwise go with the RC-10 because it's cheaper.

I will be using my newly purchased RC LCR with RC-10 fronts.

If using RC-10s as surrounds definitely not an issue.

Use the other two for 7.1 or a stereo setup in your office.

I waited until 20 minutes before the Woot ended on the RC70's because I just bought the RC10's a year ago and they sound great in my little apartment but I can't resist a deal like that and the future proofing I just did makes me smile.

Thanks for pointing out that Woot didn't sell out on the LCR. Your tip had me glued to this woot off waiting for the LCR's to come back up and come back up they did. And $100 bucks less than I was prepared to pay! Now maybe I'll be able to concentrate on work again.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

So I just checked and a DVD case fits standing up in the space with the RC-LCR would go with a 1/4" to spare. Just checked at a DVD case is standardized at 190mm, which is the exact height listed by Energy for the RC-LCR. This is gonna be CLOSE.
