Congrats! Just out of curiosity, how did the new power amp change your "liking"?

I use the Epicon 2's "in Walnut" for surrounds. They probably the most beautiful speaker I have ever seen.

Though only of value if a reader happens to be in the UK, but Richer Sounds has the Dali IKON 6 for £800/pr (black only), previously £1000/pr -

http://www.richersounds.com/product/...ikon-6-mk2-blk

Using currency conversion, that is about US$1210/pr.

I've just invested in 2 x Epicon 2's for fronts and a pair for surrounds with the Vokal center.

I'm totally bowled over with the performance of the 2's over my Helicon 400 MK2 set up, they sound amazing in my room.

I have searched and searched, but I am not finding the answer I want. Is it possible to buy three Dali Zensor 1 speakers? I would like the additional one to serve as my center. Are they just sold in pairs? Is there a dealer who might be able to sell the speakers this way?

Thanks everyone.

Has anyone had a chance to listen to the new Opticon range?

I gave the 6's and 8's a listen a few days ago. very impressive for the price, but there seemed to be an extesion on the lower end frequencies. could have been me though.

I was listening using a Marantz CD6005 as my source and a PM6005 as an amp.

If you're in the US call sound organization and see if this is something that Dali will do. If so they probably have to special order it in, so expect a wait, but could be possible. I'm sure they could point you in the direction of the best/closest dealer to help you as well.

Hello, unfortunately they are only sold as pairs I actually had the same idea as an additional Zensor 1 as a center. Are you aware that DALI actually makes a vocal speaker for the Zensor series? it's spelled with a K, Zensor Vokal. I ended up purchasing it and I'm actually very satisfied with it's performance. It uses the same drivers found in the zensor 1 so you wont have to worry about frequency/sound problems.

Dali euphonia veneer

Hi people, has anyone tried to change the color of the dali euphonia speakers?

I think about plastic-dip, wrapping, or maybe easy: beewax. But it depends on the kind of veneer.. Any experiences or ideas?

I saw the Vokal center channel speaker, I do think is pretty amazing. However, it's probably a bit large for my wife's liking. So, through a lot of research, I did find the Vokal Pico, which seems to be perfect for my situation. Has anyone had any experience with the speaker?

How big is your room? The 8s (which I've owned) need a lot lot more room than the 6s do. Those 4X8" bass drivers and the much larger cabinet make for a lot of additional bass. They are amazing speakers, but they do need a lot of breathing room and a fair bit of space to let that bass extend out into.

I now have 6s up front and 2s as rears. The 6s in my room sound a lot better than the 8s, but thats because I don't have the room to let the 8s really sing.

I'd add dual subs to the Epicon 6's instead of upgrading to the 8's for sure...

Hi Folks,

I'm new to this forum, but have owned Dali speakers for some 8 years now. I was looking for 5.1 set up back then and auditioned a few brands (B&W/KEF/Monitor Audio) and the Dali Ikon Range with Paradigm Seismic 110 was last up on the day I'd lined up the demos. The difference when I heard the Dali was not subtle....it was night and day...the Monitor Audio was winning before...from then it was only a matter of agreeing a deal.

Long story short...I moved to Helicon 400, then back to Ikon, and now I have Epicon 6, Vokal and 2s as rears with a Paradigm Sub 25 filling in the low end rather nicely! Happy as larry now, the 6s are the final stopping point for me, having had the 8s in my room, I know I'm at the limits of what I can achieve in my room. No more upgrading....now focusing on more movies/tv shows and music

The Dali pico series is actually very impressive for it's size. I don't think you would be disappointed by using the Vokal Pico. The drivers are the same as in the Zensor series but of course smaller.

For home theater it's important that the drivers match as much as possible to avoid frequency crossover/interference problems so, personally, I would buy the Zensor Vokal and deal with the wife later

Or go with the Pico's all the way around! they are a great speaker.

re Center Channel matching, does Zensor Vokal match best with Zensor 1's up front or Zensor 3's?

Also, having a pair of Zensor Pico's as surrounds, will that be advisable?

For the front end, you will be fine with 1s or 3s with centre.....

Rears, I think you can have a bit more leeway.....I've Epicon up front and back rears and 4 Phantom in ceiling and sound great to me....

That helps quite a bit. I've been on the fence with either going with the Zensor 1 for the left and right, and the Vokal Pico for the center. The other option would be three NHT Absolute Zeros for the left, right, and center, with the center laid horizontally.

I had 8s, then went back to 2s for Fronts....but something was missing.....6s are perfect now in my room, with 2s as rears.

I would recommend home demo of the 8s before purchase. In my room, I prefer what the 6s are doing over the 8s.

Dr. Mark..have the epicon vokal setup and is getting broken in as I write this. It is time for a house call and some play time. Need to borrow a couple of atmos movies from your house to get the full theater experience.

Thank you for the invite. It's interesting the synergy between Rubicon 8's and an Epicon Vokel. I never would have expected the center to blend so well. Room is sounding great. Well done!

Anyone tested Ikon 1 Mk2 vs Opticon 1 or Ikon 2 Mk2 vs Opticon 2 ? Does Opticon sounds better on mids/highs? Opticons sounds better than Ikon even if the Opticon doesn't have hybrid tweeter?

Those are nice speakers at their price point. Is this strictly 2-Chaucer music? What is your source? Budget? Will video be involved?
