Audio Physic Spark.
I have yet to hear a speaker using a sub-160 mm woofer that I didn't think sounded thin and sterile. Perhaps my ear prefers a less accurate lower midrange than a smaller driver provides, because I know that with a sub, a smaller driver should be better at reproducing the upper bass and lower mid than a 160-180 mm driver, I just don't like how they sound.

Sounds more like you've been in jail for 8 years, especially with your grammer. C'mon now, what did you get convicted of?

At least I've been here over a month.

So what did you get convicted of anyway?

I saw the public record of your probation violation. It has to be something good.

Bose 201. But that was 25 years ago when it was the only half decent speakers I can afford.

B&W Nautilus 801's. Took a pair in on trade and was all excited to have them in the demo room. They turned out to be god awful. I tried everything to get them to sound good including running them with nearly 1.4 kilowatts per channel and in the end ended up selling them at a loss just to get them out of there. They couldn't leave fast enough.

Thiel CS3.6's. Used to manage a high end dealer that carried Thiel and we got the first pair in after phenominal reviews. Barf. They were flat, harsh and horrifying. Two pairs puked up the midrange voicecoils...literally. The voicecoils popped right out of the front of the cone. One client bought a pair sight unseen and put them with a Krell KSA300S...against my advice. That combo would etch glass. Customer ended up getting boucoup acoustic treatment and a drippingly sickly sweet tube preamp just to make it listenable. At least Thiel redeemed themselves with the CS1.5 which was a lovely little speaker that flat smoked the big ones.

Hsu Labs TN1220 (sonotube) Subs. HUGE expectations out of them, but they were one note thumpa thumpa and slow as hell above 40hz. Tune tune tune to no avail. Sent them back.

Legacy Focus 2020's. I was a Legacy Dealer for a time and just could NEVER get them to sound right. Picked up a pair of Whispers and a set of Studios, and they were both marvellous, but the 2020's sat there unhooked after many unhappy listening sessions. Klipsch RF-7's at 1/3 the price kicked their butt. Dropped the line after they got too many great reviews and got too expensive for their own good.

I agree, the Whispers are pretty spectacular, but im supprised you could'nt get the best out of the Focus 20/20s

Tawaun, why don't you crawl back wherever you came from.

I will find out what it was and post it. Looking over the probation violations, tells people a lot about you.

At least I have a clean record.

Not knowing how to spell is no excuse for such obvious errors. There is a button at the bottom of the text screen labeled "SpellCheck". Learn to use it, folks! :)

What does this have to do with disappointing speakers? Disgusting.

I hope this thread is kept open and all these petty posts are deleted - aside from them this has been an interesting topic to me.

I've reported Rallen's post.

I have sound equipment.

Why? It merely confirms Tawaun's antisocial nature, which is already obvious from his posts.

Surfing the internet for information on someone with whom you disagree is revolting and about as low as you can get. Are you running for office against Tawaun or what?

This is an A/V forum, last I checked and therefore, it has no place here and you should seriously take a look in the mirror.
