Do you find the Pioneer LX56 lacking in your current set up with Monitor Audio RX6's?
Looking at the specs for the Pioneer LX56....it appears to be a fantastic receiver that would easily drive MA Silver 8's.

Output Power per Channel ..170W...... Impedance at Output Level.. 6Ω.......... 4Ω Speaker Support ..Yes

Gandu thanks for the reply,

My system drive very well the MA Rx6, but I'm more relief knowing that Lx56 is great for Silver 8, because i read that silver 8 need a lot of power , bla bla...

but if pioneer has enough power, nice

Someone in here have a silver8??? Can you give a little personal feedback?? thanks

Silver 8 or Gold GX100?

Greetings:

Im about to replace my Polks RTiA7; they sound very good; but I believe this is a nice step up.
Silver 8 cost $2000 a pair and Gold GX100 about $2200.

There is no showroom to hear this where I live. I was able to hear 2ch the Silver 8 and was very good.
But also I was able to hear Defintive Technology Studio Monitor 55; and If I compare that with my Polks Oh wow.. very amazing.

So; thats the deal; or get Silver 8 floorstands vs a high end Bookshelf?

I love music and movies as well; I can say 50/50. The bass on the Silver 8 was amazing vs the Silver 6 in which I was able to demo too. Sadly only 2ch music. No movies; there was no bluray player on the store! I consider Silver 8 has better mids than Silver 6 and of course you can notice the difference at the bass....

My other contender is the B&W 683 Series 2 with the HTM61 S2 Center!.. I have to say its to sad the Silver Center is only 2-way vs B&W in which is 3 way for same price!.... Third contender KEF Q700 with Q600 Center!

HElp here please

Thinking of selling my home theater. Bought in 2010. Used for about 2 years. Been in original boxes for last almost 2 years in my spare bedroom. What's it worth

Silver rx8s
Silver center
Silver rears

Borderline mint condition. Feather dusted and micro fiber wiped

Black lacquer finish

What's a good asking price??

$1800 sounds like a good starting point. If they were rosenut I'd snatch the rears myself.

Since going to floorstanders I like them better, just from a stability standpoint. Gx100 does sound great though!

If you have a sub, or plan on getting one, go with the GX100....

If no sub, get the towers.....

So I actually had monitor audio for a short while, but getting the upgrade bug and want to move more toward 2.1

Wanted to get an honest price idea of what I should ask for my 5 speaker setup, or if I should break them up. Though I will freely admit monitor audio is without a doubt what made me into an audiophile.

So what I have is:

Pair of BX-5s (6 months old)
One BX-Center (3 months old)
Pair of Br-2s (My first monitor audio speakers)

All are pristine except the br2s which have a scratch on the bottom of the speaker.

Edit: Forgot to add, all of them are ash oak black

I'm considering sort of the same thing myself- ie. letting go of my pristine GS Gold GS60 tower (fronts) and GSLCR (center), and replace with GX100 monitor (fronts) and GXC350 (center) respectively.

Running a Parasound Halo A51. Also using 2 JL Audio F110 subs, so I'm not worried about producing high quality bass.

But I'm wondering if I will miss the Gold GS60 towers for music though?
