I was looking at some rf3s for surrounds a while ago, but they were too much. They are similar to rf82, if it were me I would get the 64ii or you could try a 2nd hand original rc64 or rc7? When you can afford rf7 etc move the rf3s to surround duty.

The Rf and rc 3 both sound great. But life anything in like you want more... I think im going to go for the rc-64, just bought some stuff so I will have to wait a few weeks before I can get it. Then I hopefully Ill get new surrounds and another rc-3 to use for front highs. Then get nu4-6000 to power the front three and add a 3rd sub.

Cheapest I found the rc-64II was 950 new shipped. Anyone know if goes for less anyplace else?

You should be able to find it for less from an authorized klipsch distributor like Sound Distributors. Call them.

What's up with the puny little center speaker? It doesn't match the dual 8 incher tower. What is Klipsch thinking? And the surrounds are 4 incher?

The good news is I won't be feeling the need to upgrade (yet....)!

As most of you know I LOVE taking pics of audio gear and sharing it here with the Klipsch Community. If they say a picture is worth a 1000 words...how much is a video worth? Who knows but I thought I would try something different by posting a video of my setup. It's rare that we ever get to see who is behind the screename so I thought I would give you a snapshot of me and my Home Theater. Plus I just needed another reason to use my GoPro Hero3+ Black.

Be sure to change it to 1080p in your youtube settings. To do so, you'll need to click on the Youtube link on the video and view it on Youtube instead of from within the AVS Forum. Enjoy

Okay I just found a(looking for KC-25) RC-25 center speaker for cheap but I already own a C-3 but to me it doesn't have enough kick to go with my F-30....Would the RC-25 be a upgrade over the C-2 ?...Thanks

I gave them a call today and was pretty impressed with how good the prices are. I found a slightly lesser price from one dealer on the Rf-7's (they are out of my current budget) I want the rs-62II , might buy those before the rc-64 even though all the cool points come with the 64. Any other retailer I should contact to price compare before I order other than sounddistributors.com?

Yeah I have the same question, I have a C-20 paired with two f-30s and it just doesn't have enough kick. Then of course you get into a timbre match problem I think.

Any one have an idea if I can take the rc-62 and turn it into a book shelf speaker? I figure it sounds great and buying a second one to use as a book shelf for my front highs would be cheaper than getting a set of rb-8's. I have the rc-3 II model which is similar and rather inexpensive most places online.

Any reason why I can stand the speaker sideways and use it for LR? Would the array be off or would I need to rotate the tweeters and woofers 90 degrees?

They would work fine for that. You will find the horizontal axis to be narrower if stood up.

I have heard from a few people that rc62ii all the way around sounds great. I would not stand it up though.

It looks they painted the icon woofers, thats it. I can't see how these would sound a whole lot different from the Synergy/Icon lines.

For those in Utah, this seems like a good deal:

Im moving into a new place and finally have the room to try out towers as surrounds. I was going to take my kg4.2s and put them back there and put 5.2, 5.5 or even tangent 400 or 500s up front. Could also settle for 4.2 (or 4.5) all the way around as well. What do you guys think? Denon x2000 and kv3 center channel. Room is guite long so i can put the rears a good 10 feet behind the couch. I have a wtb ad in classifieds if you know someone in atlanta selling in black finish.

Also found a nice pair of km4s for $75. I could put those in the back.
SanchoPanza's Avatar SanchoPanza 07:41 PM 07-28-2014
Syd,

Do you own all the above, except for the KM4?

If so, I think they are ALL better than KM4 (KG 3.5) which aren't bad; only speaker you mentioned that I own.

No, the only ones i have are the 4.2s - thats why i have a classified ad looking for any of the others. I have heard them all except the tangents. Oh, i imagine they are all better than the km4/3.5. However, for $75, i could put those for the rears and keep my 4.2s up front. Kind of at the mercy of craigslist and this site's classifieds, but i could always wait too until exactly what i wanted came along. I just thought for $75, those would be pretty decent rears.

There is a pair of tangent 400s for $140, but he kept dodging the question about condition (but did say they sounded great) and hes not the only owner of them. Hes about 45 minutes away too.

Forgot to mention i have the rw12d as a sub.
SanchoPanza's Avatar SanchoPanza 08:16 PM 07-28-2014
I have a pair of Tangents, but, they are smaller; I think the Tangents will sound more like Heresy II, which I love.

But, the KGs should sound close to each other.

I, too, have an RW-12d.

So should i go for the km4s for $75 and put them as the rears you think? Or wait for something bigger than my 4.2s and put the 4.2s for my rears? I thought the km4s for $75 was a pretty good deal.
SanchoPanza's Avatar SanchoPanza 08:33 PM 07-28-2014
KM4 is a good deal; but so are the Tangent 400s (just looked through Hotlanna Craig's List)

If the T400 are as pictured & work, the parts are worth more than $140 (without research, so ymmv).

What's you budget?

If I had the money, I'd buy the Belles for $1700 in Buford? & Heresy in War Beagle Land & use what you have as Surround Back & Center or run Phantom Center, until you find a single Belle, or La Scala for a Center...
SanchoPanza's Avatar SanchoPanza 08:35 PM 07-28-2014
Oops the Belles & Heresy aren't Black; but, easy to refinish Black, if you must.

My budget is pretty much best bang for the buck with an upper ceiling of probably $200. That would have to be a mint pair of 5.2/5.5 or tangent 400 though. I just didnt like the vibe i got from the tangent guy.

I've got a RC-35 with the dual binding posts. When I first got it, I stupidly set it up for bi-wiring on the recommendation of a friend. I had to remove the binding posts connectors. Now I'm probably going to be selling the RC-35 but I can't find where I put the gold connector. Anybody know where I can find one, and how much it would cost?
SanchoPanza's Avatar SanchoPanza 08:50 PM 07-28-2014
Then I'd go KG 5.5 or 5.2, in that order with the KM4; (as if that's not what you've decided).

Should be a darn good system.

Not sure if these would fit. They give dimensions on link. They also have other jumpers. Just measure and find appropriate size.

I took all of mine off and replaced them with these. You could make your own or check with Klipsch parts.
