is there an official, or can someone recommend a stand for the RC-62II? I'm going to try to move it in front of the TV stand and out of the cabinet to see if I can improve some of that hollow sounding dialogue. I'm about to test me theory if that's the problem. Gonna use my cheap little automan. Stand needs to be about 20" off the floor.

Main room (3D bluray, PS4, WiiU) LG 70LB7100: Denon x4000, Klipsch RC-62II, RF-62II x2, RS-41II x2, SVS PC-12NSD + Klipsch RW12d
Downstairs (PS3, Xbox 360) Panny L55ET5: Demon 1712, Polk CS10, R300 x2, t15 x2, PSW10

Good luck with your search.
I've looked a lot at the Salamander Designs stuff and there's something about the styling and two-tone coloration that I just can't get past. For their price range, I really want to love it, not just tolerate it. To each their own, of course. Your setup looks pretty nice though. :-)

How do your rf-83 pair with the rc-64. I have rf-3's and wanted to upgrade my center to the rc-64II and wondered if it would be a noticable upgrade to the rc-62 and if it paired well with not the rf-7's

Do you guy think my receiver is underpowered for the RC62s? It's 90w per channel. That's what Klipsch told me might be the problem with unnatural dialogue. Any way I guess I could try more power and if that doesn't do the trick then I don't know what.

unnatural in what way?

have you applied room correction at all?

isn't the Denon rated at 125wpc? that is MORE THAN enough to get good sound

Hmm I thought it was 90 maybe it is 125. Yes I applied room correction. But I set it to off (I know it still applies but I turn audyssey off and it helps a little).

Unnatural as in the best way I can describe it is. The actual music and soudtrack sound wonderfully sweeping and amazing. The dialogue half of the time sounds boxy and tinny. I am not good at describing it and that is the BEST words I can come up with. I mean its' not waaaay off it's off just enough for me to not be satisfied with the dialogue half the time.

The RF-83's and RC-64 (not II) sound wonderful together. they are both very strong performers and work extremely well together. When the RF-83's were being sold, the RC-64 was its matching center. Although I imagine the RC-64 and RC-64II's are pretty similar, I haven't ever heard an RC-64II. So , I don't know for sure any differences or strengths/weaknesses. When I upgraded my L, R, C speakers in 2012 to a used set of RF-83's (L/R) and an RC-64 (C) , I upgraded from RVX-54 Floor-standers (L/R) and a RVX-42 (C). The difference, was obviously huge.

As a reasoned guess, if the RC-64II is anything like my RC-64, upgrading your center to an RC-64II with your very nice RF-3's would be a noticeable upgrade. Good luck!

Excellent, Thank you for the reply. DO you use an external amp? I was told that they would need 200 RMS for the woofers, not so much the tweeters. Thinking inuke nu46000.

Cheers!

No, I don't use an external amp. I have a Yamaha RX-A2010 140W per Channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.06 % THD with 2 channels driven) which seems to be sufficient power for my 7.1 Klipsch system. YMMV.

You'll get widely varied - and passionate, opinions about the need for external amps. I think you might be fine but have a listen when you get the new center and do what you think is the right choice.

Do you like to listen to bone crushing levels? If you do then get an amp. I would like an external amp someday but to be honest my 125w/ch Denon 3312 does very well at reference. Even though it only does around 90w/ch with 5 speakers being driven. Now that's with my 7II's and 64. I think an amp will help with clarity at extremely loud levels but I think that's about it. Idk really.

Very true, I didn't appreciate what an amp could do until I tried it.

I originally ran my Klipsch speakers with an entry-level Marantz 5.1 reciever. Fortunately it had pre-outs and was able to hook up a HK 5 channel amp I found in a pawn shop. Made a huge difference for movies, I could crank it with no distortion.

I'm still going to get an amp down the road.

A Denon x4000? That is 125w RMS x 7ch @ 8 ohms. (Oops I forgot they rate those at 2 channels. Carry on and ignore me )

I bought some Heresy I's.
What is the best way to hook this up to the receiver? Banana to Spade Adapter?

Also I am using these as surrounds and have a chance to get Heresy II's to go with. Can i mix and match or but another set of I's

It also shows 279 for me.

I am using an Ikiea end table at the momoent for my center. Its actually perfect size for my current speaker and height (go figure). But, my brain says "no get something nicer". Let me know how the center works out.

Anyone with a RC-64 what type stand are you using for it?
