I made deals like that at best buy to. You certainly can "wheel and deal". I got my HL67A750a that way. If there is an open box sitting there, new models are out, they get desperate to unload it. As long as the price they get is "fair" you can score a deal. However that denon on the x4000 is at a much lower under MSRP % than I got my TV for.

Sony KDL-70R550A (passive 3D tv)
Denon x4000 (amazing sound correcting software)
Klipsch RF-62IIs (amazing horns)
Klipsch RC-62II (so clear)
Klipsch RS-41IIs (so full)
SVS PC12-NSD + Klipsch RW12d (so boom)

I scored my Yamaha RX-V1900 AVR that way. Yamaha had just released the new "Advantage" line HD AVR and B.B. had a display but no box but both remotes, mic etc was all there for $600.00 plus tax with full factory warranty and I added a two year service policy to it. Right then the online Yamaha sellers had NIB with factory warranty for about $700.00 TYD, then they went up when they realized the 1900/3900 series were worth more as they were hurting the new A1000/3000 sales. I was getting the upgrade AVR itch but I think a better sub would be money well spent next. The Yamaha 6 years later is still jamming great with no issues..........yet.

Definitely. I also think the Magnolia guys in general have much greater leeway than the typical BB guys. Plus our Magnolia is huge and a big part of the store - they have 4 projectors set up! And 2 whole rooms with speakers, plus a large office. It's a great place to shop or just check out the latest and greatest.

it's all about timing. Try to score something when it's old and needs to be replaced by new models. But I think we can all agree our fellow got a score on the x4000 that rivals anything.
