What's the distance to your MLP and how loud do you typically listen? These two things can tell you whether or not your approaching your AVR's limitations. Here's a good tool.

FWIW, looks like something going on with RF7ii and RC63ii pricing--all the Amazon options are 20% off right now.

That seems to be the going price these days? Crutch even has them for $1279 ea (RF-7's that it).

I really don't have a spot to put these in my room, the ceiling is really my only option, so I was hoping for the in ceiling speakers. I think the ones mentioned before are what I'll hunt down.

Why are they ridding the inventory of Ref II items? Just time for new models?
I'll call Dave at Acoustic Sound and Design, but where else should I look for the CDT-5800-C-II?

Ref II Series have been discontinued and are being replaced by the Ref Premiere Series. With the exception of the RF7-II's and RC64-II's, various blow out sales have taken place since late last year. Most authorized dealers are currently purging inventory at 40% - 50%. Many folks here have taken advantage of very aggressive savings greater than 50%. NFM, for example, had sales around 60% off late last year to earlier this year but I believe they have very little Ref II inventory left. I saw an earlier post of someone purchasing CDT-5800-C II's for $169 ea from NFM.. However, your best bet now is probably from Acoustic Sound Design who still has inventory for around 50% off. I don't know Dave but I've deal with Mike Embers who is very straight forward. Good Luck!

Ok thanks for that explanation, that was awesome! I did email Acoustic Sound and Design and asked what kind of a sale price they have on those speakers, we'll see what they come back with I might call too. They would ship to me in Oklahoma? $169 each would have been nice, what is NFM by the way?

It's always better to call for the most favorable pricing...and yes, free shipping throughout the US.

Wow, that's a better deal than I got my front 3 for. Think I paid $2,600 for the 3. You all need to grab that deal!

That depends, what are your fronts? IIRC the RS400 is a rebadge of the Ref I version, so if your front stage is Ref II, I'd be inclined to choose the RB61II. But the 61 lacks the built-in mounting options of other Ref II bookshelves so you'd need to think about how you want to set them up.
