I am thinking I will countersink two screws each in the back braces, to secure to wall. Will probably put some 1" wide foam type tape from Lowes in between those back braces and the wall (all the way across each brace). Shouldnt rattle, I hope.

Just get some rubber or felt feet to put on those boards. That's the way my RS-62 II's are mounted and they don't rattle. Oh, and I'm only using the keyhole bracket.

Yeah I would screw down through the foam strips into the wall so it's only foam touching the wall.
Get thicker strips and sandwich it down. . I'm sure those vtf's are not nice to loose items!

There are a couple of pictures that rattle, but I really hate my fireplace. I mean I live in lower Alabama, why even build a house with a fireplace...

No kidding !
I have seen other people counter sink screws through unpainted wood then cut two little pieces of round wood out and wood glue them in to sort of hide the hole with having to mud and try to match paint.

But that is of course if you can't fit a small screw in between the the slats.

I think I can get between the slats, if not I can hide a couple of screws by countersinking on the out board. I think I may really only need one screw on top and one on bottom with wall anchors. That and the foam tape, it'll be quiet as a mouse.

What rattles on your fireplace, items on the mantle? A fireplace is usually a desired option, adds value. I have noticed on some homes, the fireplace is the focal point, and might only leave one other wall for HT or a couch.

What rattles on the fireplace? All the metal on it lol. I was kinda kidding, but it really is hot as hell most of the time here, so it's funny it has a fireplace. We actually needed one in Virginia

The living room is goofy so I will be glad when we build. It is rectangular, HT on one long wall, we sit right against the other long wall, one end opens to dining and kitchen, other end is fireplace and back door. Ceiling is about 15 feet up too, just a lot of room to fill and that is how I ended up with two subs.

When we moved here I had a Klipsch Sub-12, it was not cutting it. Got a 12" Hsu which did better, until an HT guy told me to get a 15", probably two to even out the area. So that is how I ended up here.

It's only like 15 feet from wall behind me to wall with tv, its just not setup well at all for HT. Don't get me wrong, my system sounds great, but I wish I had room behind me. No way for HT on the end with the back door, because guess what, they put a fireplace in for that one cold day a year here!

Hey guys, I'm new here but im torn. I need a pair of bookshelves for my bedroom. It's gonna be a two channel system and I already have the receiver. I am going to be running the speakers off of a Denon AVR-X1100W. My dilemma is what speakers to go with. Would you guys please help me decide between the energy CB-10s or the Klipsch R15-Ms.
All the help is appreciated in advance!

I hear you on the heat. My Dad has a home in the Florida panhandle and has a fireplace. Great ambiance though, and that's what we do for a living.

Yep I would love to be able to put my ht where the fire place is. I have a little room behind my seating but only enough to walk behind to get to the staircase.

I'm not a fan of 5" anything, and that is from owning them. I am guessing your budget is around $250/pair, but if you have a little more, you could get and RB61 II b-stock or open box off fleabay.

If not, I can only recommend the Klipsch, have not heard the Energy.

Welcome, of the speakers you mentioned, I would go with the Klipsch. I think the quality of the Klipsch overall is better. Plus I think the R15 will have a more clean and clear mids/high sound from the horn. I'm not sure where your located but have you considered used? Many people are upgrading and deals can be found….Bill

don't try, do it. they are a huge step up from the reference stuff they sell at best buy. or you could get a set of the new rp-160's. they are sweet for 2 channel and the reference premiere stuff is a step up in the looks department for sure. i have a extra set of 160's, whats your budget? if you want you can pm me

that is a fantastic start. the rb-61ii is a killer bookshelf and the rc-62ii is one of klipsch best centers for the money. my favorite in the reference lineup.

rf-7ii are being produced everyday still at klipsch. your dealer lied or possibly meant he was getting no more of them. but they just had a big factory tour a couple weeks ago and people posted picos the tons of rf-7ii cabinets being build and assembled.

How much is everything else in comparison? I am in New Zealand and rf7ii are still listed for NZ$7000. My rf82ii cost NZ$2000 and I just got a sweet to me deal on some 2nd hand rf83s for NZ$1700. If you can afford them grab them!

I have nearly that set up in a second room. The RB-61ii, RC-42ii and Denon AVR-1000. They sound very good together. The RC-62ii will really sound good with those book shelf speakers.

My meager set up
Denon AVR-X4000, Emotiva XPA-3, Panasonic DMB-BDT360
Klipsch RB-81II, RC-52II, Boston Acoustics Micro 120s
