Congrats!
Thanks, will let you know if you are correct but guessing you are. What I know now for sure my wife will never forget it as well, she is also still in shock I bought them , just not sure if her shock is positive as mine.

Pulling the trigger and then paying them off is the hard part. Ive had mine for 3 months and I STILL cant quit looking at them. They are functioning artwork, and Ill be appreciating them audibly and visually for a LOOoong time. Im never going to get used to them!

You and your wife will see (and hear)! The sticker shock will subside the day you receive them. Buyers guilt was nil for me the day they were delivered. And then to fire them up..............All traces of ANY doubt disappeared.

Congrats again!

If you are going to be sitting over 8 ft from your front soundstage it could sound really great if you aren't in a square room...Also carpeting is going to help with any brightness and as long as you can toe in your speakers and keep them from a reflective surface you should be good--Regardless, you may want to look at room treatment options to tone down reflections, then again it may not be a problem...Good luck.

{Note: my HT is in a small library which has quite a bit of natural room treatment in books and media. }

Congratulations retro! I see quite a bit of comment about how they look and their size and have never heard the RF-7II/RC-64II...That said, these speakers have a great reputation and if they are anything like the speakers I have, we haven't 'upgraded' in 13 years and it IS about Sound Quality .

The 7ii's were from Eric Winston at Sound Distributors. They said "B Stock", but the boxes never appeared to be opened and I can't find anything wrong with the speakers. I have later been told the whole "B stock" thing on ebay is just a game auth retailers play for discounts, by users at Klipsch forum.

I got the 64ii on order with another dealer (Pm me if you want his info) and it is coming new from the dealer site. "B stock" 64ii's on ebay are going for $899.

If you call or contact Eric directly at Sound Dist, he is a nice guy (I have personally purchased 5 speakers from him).

No reason to overspend with these deals out there.

I bought my RF-7s and RC-64 as "B" stock, but when they arrived, the boxes and serial #s showed they were "A" stock, spankin' new. So you may be right Gadgt, it may be a Game.

I registered mine with Klipsch. How can you tell a B stock S/N? There was nothing on the box to stand out that there were brand new.

From What Ive found, the serial number on the rear of each speaker, and on the box, is printed "B" stock. You cant miss it. Also, I believe there is a big sticker on each box (exterior) that says "B" stock.

Also, I saw pictures of the serial numbers from someone that got a B stock on one of these Audio sites, when I was researching my purchase. I was willing to accept B stock if it was ONLY the Woodgrain "issue". But was thrilled to end up having no reference to B stock. And the woodgrain is absolutely perfect on all 3 of mine. Not even something even close to a flaw - un-even grain/colors etc. Believe me, I was waiting to find out what "wrong type of cherry" was going to mean when I received mine. Boxes were perfect too.

Maybe I just got lucky, but am thrilled with these dudes!

Quick question: In my receiver set up I have my left and right R-28Fs set to large and my center (RC-62II) set to small and all at 80hz. Do any of you guys set your center channel to large or recommend it?

Im going to be carefull what I say here lol, but yea I love both the look and sound of rf83. If I had to choose on looks alone the 83s win for my setup. In saying that if I were to get rf7ii I would probably say they look the best haha. They are both awesome speakers regardless!!!!!

I looked at mine, and they are all good (S/N's). I went back and the auction posted here weeks ago that Sound Dist's had was "scratch/dent" 7ii pairs for $1400. Im not sure what was scratch and dent on mine because they look fine, but that was a sick price. They sound great too!

I was able to get a "new" cherry 64ii for $850, and it will be here 5/18 (I am on vacation all next week so they are holding it).
