Hey cchunter any reason to use 790 over your PS4 for BD movies?

PS 3 or 4's are hard to beat for Bluray movies as they have so many video adjustments that most Bluray players don't offer. I purchased a PS-3 250 used when the the PS4 came out and got a killer deal on it for the Grand Kids to play games on and was surprised with all the features the Play Stations have.

That what I'm thinking as well. I really can't complain PS3 what i have for years is great and main reason was BD movies games was just nice bonus. Now with 4K TV I will wait for real 4K player what near future offer us I hope.

Hmm well I think the pS4 is used only for gaming. A dedicated bluray player just seems better IMO. I know you can use it for both but I prefer a stand alone bluray player for movies.

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on some new gear today. I have finally made my way back to klipsch after MANY different quality brands including DT, ML Aperion and others. I have been chasing that Klipsch sound ever since I got rid of my RF-63's and RC-64. I just bought a much smaller house and I no longer have room for towers, here is what I went with:

4 RP-160M's and a RP-450C. I also placed a order for a Reaction Audio Gamma 15 today and I bought an Oppo BDP-103 about a week ago.

Today was more expensive than most but I am very excited about getting it all hooked up!

Now the very familiar audio-delivery waiting game begins

This post would have been better if you had perhaps enlightened us a bit about who you are and stuff like that.

Posts also don't necessarily mean anything esp. if it's a quick 100 posts of things like "yeah!", "I agree", etc and then a listing of items.

People have been ripped off by 1 post members and 100+ post members.

This is why many will not trade online with people without them having some kind of references (eBay, heatware, other forums, etc).

Many scammers (and I am not saying you are or are not one) create accounts all over the place and let them just age to build a sense of artificial credibility. I have been around online since 1983 and I am only 44. I have seen so many people get burned and lose thousands of dollars.

For me, I'd tell people I am alkemyst everywhere, my ebay is 30moons_auctions and my heatware is under alkemyst. I have never had a legitimate complaint.

You have a really good price IMHO on that item and I wish all parties good luck with the transaction.

Try one and post back and be honest Bro. I can go online with the PS3 and use my 55" TV. My neighbor has a older OPPO 83 and the only thing
it does the PS3 does not do was SACD. We watched my Bluray "2012" on both and did not notice any difference in the audio or video. Read the Play Station owners manual for the audio and video menu and features. Trust me some of my "Call Of Duty" games have killer audio that bounces around the room and video is clear and accurate...........same for Blurays. I have not tested a new OPPO TOTL player it might have a better picture, a good question for a different section.

Pretty much all Blu-ray players have the same video quality. They are separated by A/V options, audio quality and upscaling.

PS3 was fine for me, even though I like the Sony and Oppo standalones better as a player. PS4, no thanks. Used it for about a month and went back to my players. Menu system sucks, apps only output RGB (which can be an issue), limited color space and other PQ selections.

I know to some that may not matter but I spend money to get my display calibrated and I want an accurate player with the proper options. If I was a big time gamer Id probably just have a PS, but since I dont touch em anymore no way I would own a game system over a blu-ray player and a Roku 3. Also owned a Xbone, no freaking way...

My perfect movie/streaming system is a $100 Sony player and a Roku 3

DeepDiSHeD - I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for this heads up. I saved over $1500 last night at NFM in Texas. I bought 2x RP-250F, 4x RP-150M surrounds, RP-450C & a R-115SW sub. I haven't started working on my dedicated theater in my new house, but I couldn't pass up their prices on Klipsch speakers. They show the speakers on sale on their website, but do not show the sale price on the site.

I tried all the major dealers about a month or two ago. No one had any left. There was one place in Colorado I think that had them. They wanted $400 a piece though so I passed. I wish I got a pair when they were on clearance
