I have heard it, though only for a limited time and not in my own home. I honestly can't give impressions because I hardly remember the sound of them. I'm actually thinking of picking a pair up soon, so I might be able to give you a better impression soon. If you can find reviews for the KS14 speakers, they're essentially the same speaker.

Found this review which includes the R14S: http://www.areadvd.de/tests/test-kli...5cr-14ssw-112/

It's in German, but Chrome translates it well enough to get the gist. Pretty high praise in that article. Out of curiosity, what fronts are you pairing them with?

Just curious I have RB fronts and was wondering if anyone has paired the Atmos add-ons with these? I was looking for impressions and thoughts before I pull the trigger.

This space for rent!

The actual seller on Amazon is Acoustic Sound Design. I just tried to call them but both their phone numbers (local and 888) are "not in service". Does anyone know why that could be the case?

I just purchased a new R-115SW to compliment my SW-115 purchased last year. The new one with the copper cone will go at the front of my room (where the SW-115 is now), the old one with a WA-2 wireless module will go to the back of the room (opposite corner).

This will be my first experience with dual subs. Is anyone else here running dual Klipsch subs? If so, I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer on what to watch out for.

Their number is 888.224.3663, or you can email info@acousticsounddesign.com. I would just go direct instead of going through Amazon.

To my knowledge, the walnut finish is exclusive to World Wide Stereo...who also sells through Amazon. You may want to try calling WWS direct as well.

That's the number I dialed. The call goes through one redirect and then one gets a "number not in use" message.

Amazon actually gives you the name of the real seller RF-7II (walnut) page on Amazon says: "Sold by AcousticSoundDesign Home Theater Experts and Fulfilled by Amazon. Gift-wrap available".

It could b just a fluke. I also thought that perhaps ASD decided to get rid of their own store and just use Amazon.

I checked WWStereo too. They still have these speakers but no discount.

Hmmm...don't have an explanation for that.

I just spoke with Michael at ASD yesterday and they are very much in business. BTW: I just dialed the 888.224.3663 number and got ASD's voicemail message. Perhaps there is a problem with phone lines/towers in your area?

Did you visit their website or speak with a salesperson? In my experience with all dealers, websites typically display MLP while sales personnel will quote more favorable pricing.

I work in IT and there's a nation wide interruption for 800 numbers. That might be causing the problem. Just about every 800 number is out of service.

I'm running dual R-115SW and am very happy with the performance. Room is roughly 4.4m wide, 7m long. I probably have not set them up the best, I think a few posts back there was a guide on some steps to setting up dual subwoofers.

I did a sub crawl which suggested the original positions I had them were very bad. I had them near the RF-7ii about 1/3 into the room on the left and right. Projector screen is too big so I can't sit them anywhere else at the front.

From the sub crawl, suggested the rear right of the room just next to the door. Put one there and done a few measurements with AudioTools on iOS. Looked ok, moved MLP so it is now 3/4 back into the room improved response at around 25-30Hz.

I level matched both subwoofers before running audyssey. From memory I believe the gain controls were different on them each to reach the target SPL I was aiming for, I think 76dB. I tried a few times and got it so Audyssey set the subwoofer level at around -6dB. After which I run them hot +3dB (so -3dB)

The second subwoofer, I gave up trying to find another ideal location, I couldn't do them both opposite sides of the middle or center of the room due to the seating and screen. In the end I stacked the second on top.

Edit: Dual stacked R-115SW with the grills off looks pretty mean!

I may revisit but I'm pretty happy with response and how they perform. You can feel the seating vibrate 20-30Hz and the effect goes right through you, then the ceiling starts to creek and walls etc as the frequency goes up. Can't hear this during a movie of coarse but I'm just happy you get that deep bass sensation and impact during movies etc.

I don't have any experience with the ID brand subwoofers. The only subwoofers I owned prior to upgrading to the Klipsch were 2 12" Yamaha YST-SW1500's and they were ok for music but the R-115SW's blow them away. I upgraded to the Klipsch since they match nicely with the other reference speakers and they received much praise from the various reviews online.

Like to know how you find them once you have them setup

Speakers: Klipsch RF-7ii LR, RC-64ii C, RS-62ii SL/R, RB-81ii RL/R, 1x R-115SW Subwoofer

How do you like the R14Ms as heights and surrounds now? If they match up fairly well, I say definitely go for the R14S, they will likely match as well as the R14Ms and give you the diffuse bipolar sound I take it you're looking for. Also potentially look at the KS14, very similar to the R14S, 99 bucks on NewEgg right now

Nice looking setup btw, nice job getting the center to almost the same tweeter height as the towers

I believe the Walnut RF-7 II's ASD has are B Stock. I saw them on their page when I ordered my Cherry ones, and it said they were completed with the incorrect finish, and Klipsch sold them to ASD for a discount. Nothing wrong with the speakers, just wasn't the Klipsch approved finish. Not sure if that's the same thing for World Wide Stereo, and they are just calling them and exclusive. Look exactly the same to me.

They currently only make two, but (1) there's no need to stick with Klipsch for your sub and (2) if you feel compelled to go with Klipsch, find a used RSW-10.

Do you like a lot of bass and low effects from movies? Don;t limit yourself to 10 inch sub unless you don-t have space or budget. What is your budget?

Just opinions please.

After two years of upgrading I have finally for the moment finished buying. First off as it stands right now I have a Yamaha RX-A2010 BIC DV62si DV65LCR ( I just purchased Klipsch ) for front presense Polk TSI 100 for rear surrounds Polk RT-35 for rear surround back Polk RT-35. I have a mid bass module using a Dayton 465 18" powered by a Behringer nu3000DSP my two subs are Stereo Integrity HST 18D1's wired in series powered by a Crest Audio Pro Lite 7.5. Before anyone says anything I know the BIC's are cheap ( what do you expect for 120.00 for the pair and the center was 100? ). I may have done things wrong starting out and the biggest example is instead of replacing the mains first I am doing it last. So back to the title just your thoughts and opinions please, after much thought asking questions calling Klipsch I decided on the Klipsch RP-160M's and the RP-250C for my mains. I got these for 825 including shipping. I made sure these are not "B" stock and they carry the full Klipsch warranty. Can anyone comment on how they sound etc? I am not going to change the order just wondering what real world sounds like vs. what a sales rep or specs. say.
Thanks Norman

Im from argentina so the budget its difficult to set and its no wide the offers of subwoofers on this country. There are anothers brands like monitor audio, paradigm, polk, b&w, jbl, boston acoustics, dali, focal, jamo, yamaha, tannoy, etc.
I prefer a subwoofer for movies, actualy i have a yamaha that belongs to a yamaha 299 5.1.

Got a pair of KT DS today for 199. Seem to be pretty uncommon, I guess these were part of the original Klipsch THX series. They have opposing tweeters and woofers. Full 5.0 setup now, with R28F fronts and Academy center. Academy cuts off at 80hz, surrounds at 110 hz.

I had a KT-SW subwoofer. Thing went down to 35Hz!
I also saw a SW10II today. Pretty cool looking sub, and better than 35 Hz f3

But I'm holding off on a sub for now. Soon enough though

Hi all,

I was looking at an RP-150M system, but my wife talked me out of it. LOL I know. She knows I like the RP-280F and she likes the look of the RP-280F better. I don't have the budget now, but I'd love an Atmos system in the future. Since she likes the look of floor standing better I figured I'd put my budget into the RP-280F and the R115-SW and just do a 2.1 for now. World Wide Stereo has a promo going on so I'm able to grab these guys for 1799 at the moment. Does anyone have a recommendation for an AVR? The AVR-X7200WA looks great, but is probably out of my budget. Is there an AVR that will power these big boys with some future support for Atmos that would be a little bit cheaper? For reference the max Atmos setup I would ever do is likely 5.1.4. Any help is greatly appreciated!

First off go and kiss your wife , towers are definitely better and I also like them for their looks. Klipsch speakers really need only small amount of power so pretty much any AVR will do same(talking about power). I'm Denon guy so I will go with Denon. Latest Audyssey XT32 will set up your system like never before. If you have budget for it you can go all the way to 7200WA but any 2015 models Denon X4200W up will do your 5.1.4(with extra 2 channel amp) or X3200W will do 5.1.2
You really don't need that much power. I have RF-7II and it is powered with Denon X4000 and no limitation what so ever.
gene4ht and psgcdn like this.

Denon X4000
Klipsch RF-7II's, RC-64II, RB-81II's, RS-62II's, RS-52II's (soon for sale (maybe) :-)
SVS 2x PC12-Pluses
Sony XBR65X850B
Emotiva XPA-200 , Oppo 103D
Apple Mac mini, Sony PS3

Klipsch speakers, relatively speaking, are more efficient than most brands. Therefore, you really don't need a lot of power. If you're considering Denon products, there are several 2015 models that meet your Atmos requirements and are less expensive than the X7200WA.

I'm in agreement with Retro's recommendations. I would only add that the X6200W (presumably replacing the current X5200W) is expected to be introduced in about a month.

I'm just reading about X6200W right now . Looks like a great AVR well like any Denon X series
