Let here from all the Klipsch owners. Likes or dislikes about Klipsch? I update a lot of my equipment in the last few months. I have the RF-83 mains, RC-64 center,RF-82 rears and Infinity SM152 for the back speakers. Veloydne DLS-5000 and a Klipsch KSW-200 for subs. A Sony STR-DA7100ES receiver,Sony 60"SXRD,Sony DVP-NS90V DVD, Sony SLV-676UC VCR,Sony MDP-33 laserdisc,Philips CD770 CD recorder, JVC XV-S65 DVD, JVC TD-W660 cassette, JVC XL-M700 multi cd, JVC AL-F350 turn table, Fisher CAV875 video switcher, JVC HM-DSR100U DVHS dish, Xbox 360, Motorola cable box. My room size is 16x18. Over all I am very happy with the whole system. The Rf-83 turned out to very fine speaker little less in the bass than I would like, but the mid and high are great. The Veloydne fill the gap nicely. I like lot of base in my system. The RC-64 is a kick but center speaker, very large in size but great sound for dialogue. It is the best center I ever heard. The RF-82 are not as refined as the FR-83 but very nice for the price. The DLS-5000 is a bargain for the price you can buy them for. Looks like they range from 600-800 online. Plenty of volume , but it doesn't go as low in frequency as the more expensive subs. In the future I will look at the new Klipsch subs along with SVS,Earthquake, or another Veloydne. Driving all this is the Sony 7100ES that I am totaly happy with. This whole system is incredibly loud.

Seriously? I went to hook up the LaScalas and found out my 3rd channel on the Sherbourn isn't working. Light indicator on front panel does not come on for third channel.

Unhooked signal and speaker cables from channel 1 and the light for it stays on.

Hopefully it's just a blown fuse.

Gotta head to work so I won't be able to test it today.

Man you guy's with your heritage and pro gear... so jealous. Im still trying to save for top model reference, and IF I get them il still be a step behind you guys. Ahh one day maybe
You can find Heritage gear typically for much less than you can find Reference. You just have to be patient for the right deal to come along. Craigslist is your friend.

Like a upset wife selling divorced husbands speakers etc.
That's exactly how I was able to purchase (4) RF-7ii, (1) RC-64ii, (4) RS-62ii and (2) RB-81ii for $2000.

Living in New Zealand will likely limit your options of finding used Heritage gear.

Well... your 168 pounds standing on your speaker for a few moments, isn't quite the same thing as 100 pounds all day, every day, for the next thirty years. I still haven't heard back from Klipsch support.

Not sure what you mean by a "shelf". Thanks to some input from "Tasdom", I'm now considering having a custom TV riser made, by this guy:

http://www.syracusetvrisers.com/index.php

Looks really promising, so perhaps there is an RC-64 II on my Christmas list.

There are risers on Amazon I'm going to get to raise my TV over my center. However, I have my center on a stand in front of my TV. Just need a 4" riser.

Probably more like a deal of my lifetime. $6500 CURRENT system for $2000? That's $186.00 per speaker. The RF-7ii's retail for $1600 each. Her ex-husband had collected 3 entire HT systems over the years and she just wanted it out of her garage.

Boy, let that be a lesson to never tick off the Mrs, or don't let her become an ex.

Hello, all. Wondered if I could get some input from a few of you on something I was thinking about the other day. I've been using a setup of kg4.2s and a kv3 for almost 20 years now (mostly movies and games, some music) and have started to wonder if I'm "missing out" on maybe some other, newer klipsch models i've seen, particularly on craigslist, such as the KSF, CF, RF 62/82 II, etc. I've recently added an RW12D as well and have no idea why I waited so long to add a sub and thought there might be some other upgrades I need to consider.

Any thoughts?

I've also thought about going completely away from the Klipsch sound (even though I love it) and trying something like the EMPs, Ascends, etc. Really wish I could demo either though as shipping is not free on returns.

I almost did something like this last week, except with kg4.5s - someone had a pair with a kv2 for $175 total. Problem is, I don't really have room for surrounds now, probably not until september when i move into a house/townhome.

But sound-wise, would you keep going with the kg line?

^^^If it were me, I'd look for La Scala, Chorus, Cornwall, Forte, Quartet, or Heresy; the 4.5 would be a lateral move.

5.2 or 5.5 steps up, as would be KLF-30, CF4, et Cetera.

Klipsch website will give you info on any you want.

shelf i mean a bookshelf on the wall where the tv can sit on. i agree standing for a little while on the center is not the same as 30 yrs but it was just to point out these centers can handle a lot of weight. these custom tv risers look pretty solid, still i think you could place the tv directly on the center without a riser.. centers are made of thick mdf and this can hold the weight easily.
Again, wall-mounting is an obvious consideration... but I've already explained that it's not a possibility. And while I'm sure you feel confident in what you're saying about the weight-bearing ability of these speakers... since we're talking about a $1,400 speaker, here -- and a $3,500 TV sitting on top of it -- I'd really rather rely on what Klipsch themselves have to say about it.

True enough. There tons of different TV risers to be found on Amazon and Google. Problem is... I have yet to find even one that will accommodate a 36"-wide RC-64 II, that wouldn't have to be custom made. And by "accommodate", I mean that it would allow the 64 II to sit within and under it, without sonically compromising any of the 64's five drivers.

Obviously, most any competent cabinetmaker could build one... as can these folks, both of whom were pointed out to me by "Tasdom":
