Let here from all the Klipsch owners. Likes or dislikes about Klipsch? I update a lot of my equipment in the last few months. I have the RF-83 mains, RC-64 center,RF-82 rears and Infinity SM152 for the back speakers. Veloydne DLS-5000 and a Klipsch KSW-200 for subs. A Sony STR-DA7100ES receiver,Sony 60"SXRD,Sony DVP-NS90V DVD, Sony SLV-676UC VCR,Sony MDP-33 laserdisc,Philips CD770 CD recorder, JVC XV-S65 DVD, JVC TD-W660 cassette, JVC XL-M700 multi cd, JVC AL-F350 turn table, Fisher CAV875 video switcher, JVC HM-DSR100U DVHS dish, Xbox 360, Motorola cable box. My room size is 16x18. Over all I am very happy with the whole system. The Rf-83 turned out to very fine speaker little less in the bass than I would like, but the mid and high are great. The Veloydne fill the gap nicely. I like lot of base in my system. The RC-64 is a kick but center speaker, very large in size but great sound for dialogue. It is the best center I ever heard. The RF-82 are not as refined as the FR-83 but very nice for the price. The DLS-5000 is a bargain for the price you can buy them for. Looks like they range from 600-800 online. Plenty of volume , but it doesn't go as low in frequency as the more expensive subs. In the future I will look at the new Klipsch subs along with SVS,Earthquake, or another Veloydne. Driving all this is the Sony 7100ES that I am totaly happy with. This whole system is incredibly loud.

Just got an email from Parts Express that they now offer Klipsch. http://www.parts-express.com/brand/...utm_content=Klipsch&utm_campaign=email111714K While browsing through what they had to offer, I ran across this Klipsch CA-525-T http://www.parts-express.com/klipsc...---100v-surface-mount-speaker-black--247-2017. Now I'm wondering which speaker would be best for Ceiling Atmos? I originally though I would get Klipsch AW-525, but these look nice too and are hair cheaper. Below are the links to both products on Klipsch site.

I have been looking for ceiling speakers also, but didn't want to drop 300 bucks on the 525's while I was looking I saw the best buy Black Friday add has the reference bookshelf speaker half off! 1" 90x90 horn and 5 1/4 woofer for 125 a pair. That's cheap (inexpensive).

Essentially the same as the 525's for 125 bucks, just add a mount.

Those are 1" aluminum tweets (Reference Icon's). I'm looking for 1" titanium tweets to blend with my other Klipsch speakers with 1" titanium tweets. Plus you still have to buy brackets, and then drill into your speakers because I see no mounting holes on those.

I'm planning to go with AW-525's (the AW-650's hang down from the ceiling a bit too much) but I haven't ordered them yet. Thanks for the advice.
Have you compared the Klipsch CA-525-T to the AW-525?

So here is a better pic I promised a few pages back. I have moved my RF-82s to rear surround duty, and my atmos setup is complete. Just need the actual receiver now :) LOL

Still have to upgrade to the front heights to Klipsh as they are some crappy polk speaker but that the final step in the Atmos upgrade. The middle ceiling speakers use to be my rear surrounds but they have been now recruited for atmos top middle duty.

The 64" Plasma looks small in this pic.

I did a while ago (they're listed under the "Pro" section of the Klipsch website) and I ruled them out for some reason but I can't remember why. I think the specs said the horn was 90x60 (which I now know is wrong) but I also didn't like the four-position barrier strip speaker terminals. It looks like those speakers are specifically designed for distributed audio applications -- not that they wouldn't work fine, but those terminals are really throwing me off.

I'm sure you could call ASD or Sound Distributors and get the AW-525's for the same price (if not way less) than the CA-525-T's.

I only have the speakers so far. As for the AVR, are you saying if I get the Denon AVR-4520ci then the external amp won't be as necessary?

Yes. You may not need an external amp with the X-4000, but the AVR-4520ci is rated to drive speakers that are 4 ohm. Your RF-7s have a stated Sensitivity of 101 dB/1 watt at 1 meter and actually measured to be about 96 dB/1 watt at 1 meter--That seems like an efficient speaker but what's not apparent in the specs is that it also has a jagged Frequency Response Curve which dips below 4 Ohms in some frequencies and that is where the upper end Denon or an External amp could be beneficial, especially at louder volume.

In case anyone is interested in a hell of a deal nebraska furniture mart (NFM.COM) has the RB81ii's for $249 each with free shipping, as well as the other ones for cheap too. Price updates once you go to the check out otherwise it shows them for $424 or something like that..Might go pick up a pair this week since they are local :D

BTW im not affiliated in any way with them, but they have had them at that price for the longest time and i just never realized how cheap they were when you look online everywhere else. Must be trying to get rid of them or something...

Interesting....They were also the only company that the "RF-7 Classics" available when they and the RF-83s were discontinued so I think they must have a special relationship with Klipsch...
