Nope DIY speakers i built. Ribbon tweeter & 7" woofer in sealed bookshelf speaker.

Current speaker is Based off the Dynaudio C4's.

Using all Dayton Audio RS drivers. So far it's going pretty well, test box is this.

Who knows right? When I picked up a couple of trade-in Simaudio mono amps from my dealer last year, he was sure to tell me the previous owner had replaced the stock fuses with aftermarket and I was "whatever" but he is the owner of the shop and a believer and there was nothing to sell me here.

I almost said can you put stock back and take another $300 off price for the pair

The Simaudio mono amps sound great and I will never know the difference between stock and aftermarket fuses but believers will be believers. So should I just say I love my aftermarket fuses

Why not use Dynaudio drivers?

Yes you can: http://solen.ca/pa_manufacturer/dynaudio/

Right here in Canada.

But in general Dynaudio drivers are very over priced and performance is only so so.

So I gave the Synergistic Research Black Fuse a shot. Since it has a 30 day money back guarantee I felt I had nothing to lose except return shipping. Well it's not going back. Mind you it's not earth shattering but significant for the money spent. First it IS directional. After installing it I heard no difference but then after about 50 hrs I heard more clarity and details especially in the mids and highs so I decided to flip it around. I lost all the added clarity and put it back the right way (no there are no markings). They say it needs 200 hrs to settle down. BTW you don't have to play music but just keep the unit powered on. Anyhow last night after 218 hrs I put the original stock fuse back in. That confirmed the added details and clarity. The bass will do go a hair deeper but it's the mids and highs where it is most noticeable.
Of course each of my amps take 5 fuses...

If I am not mistaken all dynaudio parts sold by Solen are actually Car audio parts.

Not to mention Totem was using older generation drivers from Dynaudio in their speakers but they had to discontinue those speakers such as the Model One because Dynaudio has stopped production of those drivers and also beacuse they simply won't sell any of their drivers anymore and that was a while back that they stopped doing it.

Thank you dynaudio makes all their own drivers in house now and not for resale.

I picked Dayton rs drivers are they are really under rated and for the money they are darn good.

I'll post some measurements soon.

Each tower is about 600$ in drivers not including drivers.

Your DIY speakers are looking great. Let me know if you'd be interested in machined aluminum, steel or stainless steel baffles. If you have a print I can make them for the cost of material and perishable tooling as I just like do tinker in my CNC-equipped machine shop. We could give Dynaudio a run for the money.

The last 2 items are dust collectors but will work if asked.

I think wood would be much cheaper and lighter locally..

Each Baffle is 40" x 10" x 1"

I am a CNC machinist too,and stainless steel would not be practical...it is extremely hard to machine, not fun to work with at all, comparared to aluminum(which is simple) or regular mild steel,my choice for the baffle would be aluminum...just like Dynaudio did with the new contours.I don't get some of these posters, coming on a dyn forum and bashing Dyn drivers...it is like walking in Mcdonalds and screaming "These burgers effing suck",lol

Nothing wrong with their drivers, they are just not a good value for the $$, they are really over priced..

How much does a set of C4's cost brand new in USD funds ? Now take that and do some research and i bet you ( like im doing ) can build just as good or maybe even better depending on the budget and time...

When i went to the Vancouver audio show i was so excited to see the Dynaudio room, i literally lit up and was smiling, when i walked out i was sad to hear that their speakers they were demoing well, Sucked, and for the price too ? WAOH !

BTW who the heck would buy wireless speakers ? You still have to plug them into the wall, and the inconvenience of wireless 802.xx in the house meh !!
