It's a nice idea to use those. Quite good damping characteristics.
That is the one Ken, mine would be the 9108 model...I have 4 of them.

Got the Hegel H300. Packaged well but contrary to the description of mint, there is an obvious and deep scratch on the volume knob. What's worse is that the knob is out of alignment, because it rubs against the housing when turning, the cause of the scratch.

I have yet to test out the amp, but am a little disappointed at the inaccurate description and am concerned about the root cause of the knob misalignment, I have a feeling it was mishandled (lifted up by the knob) at some point.

The seller is cooperative and offered a full refund. I wanted to test out the amp and get your opinions before shipping it back.

Thanks!

If it were me I would set it up and have a listen. Use it as a free home demo then return for refund. If the sound us to your liking then look for another or for a 360. If you don't like it then look for something else. I woukd not keep a non mint unit described as mint.

I'd ship it back without even listening. It's not something I'd keep so why bother. The perspective of the photo is probably to blame, but that thing looks like it took a hit to the volume knob and bent the shaft it's on.

Also, my understanding is that the Hegel H360 is a completely different and better product than the H300 in many ways. Lust...I have some.

System includes KEF R500 floor standing, R200C center, R100 surrounds, SVS SB2000 subwoofer, NAD T758 receiver, Pro-Ject RPM1 turntable w/ Sumiko Pearl cartridge, Bluesound Vault, Sony BDP-S480 BlueRay player, Samsung UN55JU6500F 4K LED TV, KEF M500 headphones, Sony CDP-CE500 CD changer, MCS System cassette deck. The last 2 items are dust collectors but will work if asked.

If it were me I would give it a serious listen. Can you live with the scratch? If so as for a partial refund. Sounds like the seller is trying to work with you which is a good thing. As far as the volume knob rubbing it may just be an alignment problem. But if the shaft is bent causing the scratch I may be a little concerned. Meaning it could have damaged the pot. If that's the case ask the manufacturer what a replacement volume pot and knob would cost with shipping. If the pot isn't damaged try to straighten the shaft and ask the manufacturer the cost of a new knob. Just my opinion

You all acting slightly surprised that the Hegel+Dyn synergy is great (perhaps better than NAIM) need to remember that Dynaudio uses Hegel and NAD in their in-house auditioning room for a reason. I didn't see any NAIM equipment in those pics...

Congrats and enjoy! Beautiful speakers. What are they replacing and how do they compare?

I agree with this, I'd listen to the setup with this amp and speakers and see how I enjoy the combo. Then ask for the full refund and depending on how much I liked the combo is either look for another unit or try something else. I don't think I'd keep the unit esp cause I don't like to repair things like that esp when I'm paying good amounts of money for it.

ri3eboi: As a person who just dealt with a Claim for the last 4 months that is still un-resolved with my Music Server, I would send it back ASAP, give it a listen for a day or two and see how much you like it, but send it back for a full refund... Some sellers have no clue what mint is, and that for sure isn't mint. I agree with Spurrier on this one.. The good news for you it sounds like this guy is reasonable, so don't take too much time. That unit color almost looks like a dark green color to me..

Here you go another one but I am sure this isn't as inexpensive as the one you bought....

Dynaudio,Magnepan,Musical Fidelity,KEF, etc...... Maybe New Contour's or Raidho next...

I also agree with the rest of the guys, take a quick listen to see how you like it,but send it back. You probably don't even have the 340's yet do you?The amps that you were interested at Audio two ARE in mint condition,i can vouch for that, and glen told you up front about the little scratches on the 340's...which i took photo's of.I did see something from Hegel there the other day when i picked up the Taksim's,not sure what it was though.Hope it works out for you,but that looks pretty bad.
